Oh right. Well yes of course there will be some delay at visa office because they will need to contact you to get PCC, you need to get it, then send it, then wait again at their end. Maybe 30 to 60 day delay total.

Wayne.

Hey guys, good morning everyone.
With regards to the PCCs... If a person did not send their PCCs with the initial application, wouldn't then the receipt of PER be a good moment to request them from authorieties? Then these could be submitted to the VO and that way the additional delay could be avoided?

What do you guys think?

(I am expecting my PER towards the end of this week or beginning of next week, and I need to get PCCs from US FBI.)

Well, I have heard that they no longer have to be 3 months old or less when received (seems that has been dropped from the instructions) so if they have 12 months validity it should be ok.

However, until you know if you passed your eligility review it may be a waste of money for the sake of waiting a few days to hear the results of the review before investing!

On checklist for Sidney and for Vienna explicitly said-do not send PCC at this stage! 8)

I applied for all my PCCs when preparing my documentation and was waiting for the FBI one. When CIO changed their rules, I just submitted everything without the PCCs. So the ones I have at hand will be older than 3 months by the time they would reach VO and it was my understanding that only the PCCs (less than 3 months old) when initially submitted to CIO would be valid for a year. I guess, I'll just wait and see what happens.

Let's hope for some more PERs today :)

Dear Rina

Mee too is in the same Boat, The content of the PER says any furthur communication to be sent to VO henceforth,
As per the VO instructions The PCC should not be older than 3 Month when submitted,

Can we go ahead and submit the PCC to VO, Quating the file no,

I'll probably re-apply for my PCCs (3 countries) once I have my PER in hands. And who knows if by the time I have the new ones, the VO didn't already request them anyway.

Hi Jeniya:

The condition that PCCs should not be older than 3 Months when submitted to VO has been dropped from the general guidelines and visa specific guidelines in Nov. Please let me know where you have read this recently. CIC has been telling us that PCCs are valid for one year, so if by the time VO receives your PCCs they are not older than one year, you should be fine.

Also, I believe when your application is received by VO you will be contacted right away and informed. You can then submit your PCCs right away. VO will then be doing the "Selection and Admissability" phase on your application. This will take a while, so by the time your PCCs reach them, there has been no delay in the processing of your application.

My 2 cents,
Cam

I see 2 of our members(roman and aaycee) with PERs have not sent the PCCs yet. So, is there any difference in the PER letter they received? Is there a extra line mentioning they should start collecting the PCCs?

Anyway, the instruction guide says we should start gathering PCCs as soon as we submitted our applications to the CIO.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

I guess, my PCCs should be fine then (they are 2 - 3 months old at the moment). So I guess, this is one less thing to worry about then.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts on this. You guys are being very helpful with every step in this PR process :)
