lafaneh, Dr Ex and made711 - have any of you tried contacting CIC yet regarding the status of your application? I know made711 was talking about doing it

It's possible someone miskeyed your email address when they entered your details or something, and with the received dates getting up to 16th August it's probably worth a try.

wenstumped and Cam: regarding CAIPS....I don't know about the individual companies, but I believe this is how it works....you can get your CAIPS notes, but they have to be requested by a Canadian. That could be your friend or relative in Canada, OR a company located in Canada. The Government requires that you provide a signed, dated document authorizing the person or company to obtain your notes on your behalf. I did this for our friend and it cost me $5...that's all. Companies will not do this free of charge, so anything in addition to the $5 is what they make on the transaction. I am sure they have not hacked into the government system. I hope this puts your mind at ease.

Thanks for clearing it up Pippin but I still don't quite agree with the idea of this. We've had forum members who have called and emailed them and have received no clear answers but for $5 they would give all the information out? Instead of charging us $550 per person I'd have preferred they charge us $600 and give us regular updates, like on a weekly basis about our applications. It would save us all the stress and uncertainty that we have been put through.

HA! I suddenly heard that classic Monty Python song, "He's a Lumberjack.." going through my head as I read your post!! Possibilities???

Lol. "I never wanted to be a crane operator, ya know! I always wanted to be .... A LUMBERJACK!"

"Leaping from tree to tree, as they float down the mighty rivers of British Columbia. The Giant Redwood. The Larch. The Fir! The mighty Scots Pine! With my best girly by my side, I'd sing sing sing....." ;)

wenstumped....I don't think CAIPS notes are of much use until you reach a certain point in the process, but I agree it would be so much less stressful if progress was easier to determine. When you think how the decision to emigrate will change the life of your present and future family lives it is no wonder everyone is anxious to KNOW. Alternately, the cost of $5 is incredibly reasonable considering the costs required to process and mail the request for CAIPS. You can ask for a paper copy or on disc.

Hey guys, what should I write in my e-mail to CIO? Pincipal applicant's name, NOC code, what else?
I would appreciate a lot if someone can send me a example letter as private message, I know that's maybe stupid, but thanks anyway.. :)

Maybe I'll finally know what's going on with my applicatoion...

As we are on holidays and i was looking at our spreadsheet, can Rawheal confirm the date received by CIO pls. 22-8-2010 is a sunday.

19th aug was a working day and we dont have anyone on our sheet on that day so we may not see a shower of PER's today. (even if i hope to see them)

Thanks for taking it to my knowledge actually i followed the courier website for the mentioned date, I think it would be 23-8-2010 instead of 22-08-2010.

I think if your NOC permits you you should send the new package without explanation.
