I don't get it, according to this the CIC are closed on 27th and 28th December for Christmas and boxing day. Are these in addition to 25th and 26th or are these guys going to be working on the actual Christmas and boxing days??? ??? Real Santa???

25 th and 26th are saturday and sunday - so no one works then. So 27 and 28 are compensatory days

Christmas Day is a Saturday (non business day) and Boxing Day is a Sunday (also non business day), so like many countries and organisations they are granting the Monday and Tuesday as days off in lieu.

So they will be closed 25th to 28th inclusive.

If I understand the dates correctly, the only business days in December that CIO will be closed is the 27th and 28th, since everything else falls on weekends... and they will be back to work on Jan. 3rd.

Two business days is all we will be losing in processing time throughout this Holiday Season? That is not bad at all! I thought they would be closed for two weeks straight or something. :)

As we are on holidays and i was looking at our spreadsheet, can Rawheal confirm the date received by CIO pls. 22-8-2010 is a sunday.

19th aug was a working day and we dont have anyone on our sheet on that day so we may not see a shower of PER's today. (even if i hope to see them)

Cheers

I don't know.... I still have a feeling that things will slow down quite a bit during the holdidays. Maybe the Immigration itself is closed for only 2 days, but people tend to use their vacation days around holidays to make the most use of them. I am pretty sure, that a bunch of the officials might still be out for a week or more.
But I guess, we'll have to wait and see.

For now, what remains is waiting for some AOR/PER news.
Happy refreshing your email and forum pages everyone :)

Awesome! I totally forgot Christmas and boxing day are falling on the weekend this year!! D-uh! It's great that they're only going to be closed for 4 days. I thought they'd close on the 20th and reopen on the 3rd or something, this is great news!!!

Normally just New Year's Day, since that is a Saturday they will probably have Monday 3rd January in lieu.
