Hi Wayne and senior members of this forum, I would like to know that when is File number created ? What i understand is when they receive application, they provide Application ID and further they check our documents and encash our BD/CC, if one is through. Now in our case they do eligibility check also at CIO. So my question is, whether file number is created before eligibility or after eligibility check ?

The answer is: no idea.

Given that people who haven't had AOR and have been told that their review hasn't started have had a file number, my guess is that file number is almost certainly allocated after completeness check.

Urgo getting the file number isn't really of any use, unless you can't tell if your banker's draft is cashed and you need to know if you passed your completeness check.

IMO file number has no bearing on whether or not you pass your eligibility review.

Wayne.

Hello All,

Big congratulations to all who have received their AOR/PERs. All the very best for the rest of the process! and Good luck to all of us who are still waiting patiently :)

I have been refreshing and reading this thread every 5 min but havent really participated as dont have anything to update!!!

It seems CIC is just refusing to inform me anything. My CC has still not been charged. I have emailed them last Friday but no response!!! I have called them couple of times but the only response I get is 33 weeks.

So am trying very hard to be positive and patient!!!! :)

Congrats Coffee!!
That makes it 2 AORs on wednesday.. Not bad! Lets hope we see more in the coming days.

Moscow VO on the move, I got my PER from FSW-Centralized_Intake-Office @ cic.gc.ca yesterday at 10 PM.

"Based on a review of the information you have provided, your application has received a positive final determination of eligibility for processing on the basis of:

X Work experience in an occupation specified in the Instructions issued by the Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism and published in the Canada Gazette on June 26, 2010. "

Great news Coffee, I was just staring at your position on the spread sheet today, and was wondering why you haven't received your PER, hope that's how I will be staring at my position on the spread sheet next week, and wondering why I haven't received my PER, and at.........10pm!!!!!, my PER appears in my inbox. :D
ALL THE BEST BRO!, as you inch towards your PR

I am thinking of two numbers:

1. client ID # (also known as UCI #)
2. file number # (starts with B******)

as regards client ID number, I was told that back in early October by the CIC call center specialist, and understand it was assigned upon successful completeness check.

however, although file number before official PER may not necessarily mean anything, I am inclined that it would be assigned upon successful eligibility review, example Bindu who was informed of file number and then got PER.

Coffee I agree with you and that's the reason I have raised the question. coz. when some guys mailed to know their status after CC charged, they were only replied by a mail stating that their application is under review by officer and they will be contacted shortly. But I am not sure.............

every time I was checking my mailbox I told myself saying shared by Wayne: 'long watched kettle never boils', and I saw no mail in my inbox.

yesterday I was quite busy with my kids and forgot to check it (my enthusiasm was actually going down every time I saw no mail), but today mail service did not open for half an hour, I went for lunch, and there you go...

Congratulations Bindu, you saved the day. Atleast we have someone to greet today. Yup, I agree with Asaif that the rate of AOR's or PER's that is posted here will be atleast 1-2 per day with somedays that are zero. I know for a fact that some people who submitted their files in July and August have received their PER's and dont even know this website (coz my consultant told me that their clients who filed around july and august are now receiving positive response)
