Hi. Whereas I sympathise with the long wait you have had to endure, please note this is the thread for post-June-26 applicants, not March 2005 applicants, so can you please refrain from hijacking this thread with off-topic questions?

Thanks,
Wayne.

T-minus 1 hour until CIO opens today!

I am hoping for at least 4 AORs for our group today to make up for the low AORs in past few days!

Wayne.

Absolutely, people who are pre 6/26/10 applicants should follow their own thread else we would be looking at posts which makes no sense to us.

AOR does mean Acknowledgement Of Receipt, yes. Formerly in the pre-June-26 process applicants received two AORs. 1st AOR was sent by CIO when their completeness check and initial eligibility review was done, and they were then asked to send all their supporting documents to visa office within 120 days. They then received a 2nd AOR from the visa office when the visa office received their supporting documents and did a final eligibility review.

With the new process, applicants send their application and all supporting documents at the initial stage. Therefore CIO are able to do the final eligibility review, hence why we are now only going to get a single AOR.

Wayne, Even if this is the case, all the guys who have got the AOR have not been asked to do anything in that AOR (there are no action items) so they will have to wait until they hear from their respective VO to go to next step which might be medicals or something else. So there will be a second letter from VO.

Hi, yes there will be a second letter from VO,but that will not be an AOR to say you've passed your final eligibility reviews, which the pre-June-26 applicants formerly got.

So basically when you get your AOR one of three things will happen
1) You will get a medical request from visa office
2) You will get a request for additional documents/more info from visa office if they are unhappy with anything
3) You will get your entire application back from visa office if you fail any of the background checks/security etc with a letter explaining the rejection

However, I think at least 90% of applicants with a positive final eligibility determination will receive visas, so AOR is kinda most of the way there, just a frustrating wait for the remainder of the process.

I copied and pasted the info from one of the forumers' post,

" Please call CIO 1-613-944-4000 (8am-4pm Eastern Time, Mon-Fri, quieter at end of week apparently) or email FSW-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca (no spaces on either side of the @ sign). "

The aforesaid sources are currently used by post 26 applicants to seek information about status of thier applications.

Processing times for before Feb 27,2008 applicant from Islamabad are 77 months, so far no news and you have waited 6 years( 72 months) already. IMO, you should better inquire about the status. Good Luck!

I guess it is then convenient to say that term AOR which is commonly used here, is more appropriate for pre June 26th applications. The post june 26th applicants now receive a notification of a positive final determination of eligibility for processing.
In other words, I should be looking out for a Positive Eligibility Review= PER :P :P :P :P

I like the idea of renaming the AOR as PER (Positive Eligibility Review) since most of us either know that our CCs/BDs have been cashed or have contacted the CIC to make sure that our applications have been safely received. So 'Acknowledgement of Receipt' isn't really what we are waiting so desperately for, its the PER!!! :D

THUMBS UP!!!

A rose by any other name will smell as sweet. We need them. Call it whatever. doesnt matter.

What we dont need is another DRY DAY

You are correct Cam. We received 12 AORs in 6 working days = 2 per day. So proportionally, they send 67 emails every day in average (just an assumption). If we represent 3% of the applicants, there is a probability of about 13% that we don't receive emails in any given day. It is a small probability, but its is still a possibility. As Canady noticed, not all people in the table are active, and there is a possibility that some got their AOR or rejections but didn't inform us. So the probability is even higher.
Wish that all of you guys get their AOR before the end of this year

Hi Asaif:

Out of curiosity, if our forum represents 3% of the total applicants under the cap, how in the world did you calculate the probability that our group will not rceive an AOR in any given day to be 13%? ::)
I would think it would be much higher than that... just passing time :)

Cam
