Congratulation man

mid of march 2010 ??!!

You mean mid of December 2010 ??

Hi - it's quite clear when they say mid March "but might be much earlier" they are doing their crappy 33 week standard quote. This is a very worse case scenario for the cases which are the most complex, in my opinion, and then vast majority of the people on this thread, if not all, will hear much earlier than mid March.

Hi Friends,

Got frustrated and called up the CIC and they put me on hold for 10 min but it was worth every min.

I was able to contact an agent and she was extremely cordial, she cross verified my passport number, my native language, my passport address, my place of birth and finally she told me what I wanted to hear.

Yes she gave me the file number and it starts with B0577***** by God's grace and told me that it would be my file number from CIC for furture reference. She told me there is a backlog and I might get an email confirmation probably by mid of march 2010 , she also told me that email confirmation may be sent much earlier but she cant gaurentee that.

I can go to bed peacfully for now

God Bless you all

Regards
Bindu

Hey Guys :)

today i wrote to CIO the second e-mail asking about the date in which CIO received my application. About a week ago i got this aswer:
"Good Morning

Your application is currently in queue for processing, you will b e contacted by our office upon completion of the assessment of your file.

Thank you for your interest in Canada"

and today:
"Good Morning.

Your application was received by our office 07 Oct 2010, and is pending review. Your will be contacted upon completion of the review of the file."

What does it mean? Is it some kind of progress? They are reviewing my application right now? Do you think that it's under the cap (NOC 1122)? Please give me something...i have -20 degrees outside so i think i deserve for some good news at least!!!

Getting a file number? Not really, pretty much everyone here could ring up and get their file number. I should really phone and get mine I just haven't got around to it.

Hi, hmm don't mean to burst any bubbles but IMO it doesn't 100% mean he's passed his eligibility review IMO, merely that he has a file number (probably everyone has after completeness check).

I don't wish to sound negative I just don't want to build his hopes up prematurely :) IMO wait for email before assuming eligibility review is passed.

i don't think so. I called CIO. They asked if I have ever been in Canada - i was but only as a touirst. They told me that they don't have my client numer/nor file number in that case.

Bindu my friend, congratulations for getting your number... Although I'm not certain what that means, it is more than many of us have :) and I am not taking your congratulation song back :D

Hi Bindu,

I think its a very good news. IMO, they assign client ID number when application is complete and file number when eligibility review is complete. So, this is a kind of AOR for you but not official. You are also lucky to get very good customer service, do you remember the agent ID or name? i would also try calling them. But what concerned me from your message was their mentioning of backlog. What kind of backlog is there at CIC. Is it from May june applicants or pre 2008 backlog. I don't think post 26 june number of 4000 can be called as a backlog. But this is sure that some kind of backlog is there which is holding off our post 26 june AORs.

Well again, congrats for your verbal AOR.
