I think to be fair to CIC, Canada Post could be as much to blame as them, if not entirely to blame.

Doc manu's application reached CIC by courier, but CIC then returned the application by standard Canada post, and from there it disappeared into the void.

In the letter I helped to draft (I am unsure if we've sent this yet?) I suggested that part of the application process could include a returns fee. This fee would cover the cost of a professional courier to return your application if you are unsuccessful.

So basically
1) If your application is returned, the returns fee is maintained
2) If your application is eventually successful, then CIC refund this returns fee to you (although of course they keep the processing fee).

I think most people would pay $50 (a small amount compared with the rest of the application) to know that if their application was unsuccessful (could be for a tiny, rectifyable thing) that it would be returned to them safely instead of being lost in the seemingly infinite void of Canada Post....

Hi Wayne,

I did not send the letter yet. It is still in a draft mode, and we see developments like NOC 1122 fill-up and certain publications on the CIC website. although not all our concerns are addressed, shall we wait to see which ones are clarified by next week, as development with the NOC 1122 is likely to be an indication of possible timing with AORs?

once clarity with AORs is there (or not), our letter will be more refined before it is sent.

thoughts?

Yes, May and June experienced a flood of AORs - but this seemed to me because they more or less stopped working on Federal Skilled Worker applications over the summer with staff holidays and student visas, and after this period was over they were then able to work through the May and June applications fairly quickly.

With this figure of 33 weeks / April 2011 being thrown around a LOT, there's no smoke without fire. CIO has, unless they were lying to people, completed eligibility reviews at least up until 2nd September. So there is something very wrong in the process if there is a further 6 month delay in communicating this to the applicants.

Even if there is another department for issuing AORs, they've already DONE 75% of May and June AORs now, and that's taken, what, 5 weeks? So let's assume another 3 weeks to finish. That's 2 months to review and issue AORs for 50,000 May+June applicants. Does anybody really buy that it will take a further 8 months to process 3000 July/Aug/Sep/Oct applicants?

None of these numbers for me have ever stacked up. Even the secondary department for issuing rejections and AORs is sounding unlikely to be the true delay if the 33 week number (or even the 4 month number) is correct.

Wayne.

To be fair, if you read the May and June forums before AORs were given, they were experiencing the same anxiety and questioning as we are... then suddenly they were flooded with AORs... Could it be that we are at our darkest stage before dawn breaks?

Dear Amro...

I'm following all of you, guys from time to time in the egyption forums "egyptiantalks & Almatareed". I'm intending to participate with you soon.
I must admit that you are such a great people out there in helping and supporting each other. You, Asaif, Dr Alex, Akram group and all all of you really."sorry if i forgot naming anyone"

I'm really eager to meet you all. Why don't you arrange for such a meeting till we all land together and meet our friends in this wonderful forum "canadavisa" in Canada."very soon by the power and intention of God" :D

Please consider it and think about it. I suppose you, Asaif and othere whose VO is London, should be in the Gulf region but i also suppose you come to Egypt frequently. If you agree, let's meet as soon as it would be possible. ;)

It would be an honor to meet you, guys! :D

My credit card has been encashed. ;D
Please update it for me. Thanks.
Have a lovely weekend guys ;D

They received AOR after 5 months and CIC is tellig post-26 june applicants to wait for 33 weeks (about 8 months), i don't think it is fair at all. post 26 june was supposed to be fast track. I hope these NOCs are still in demand when we get visa :)

Im just wondering how come in the latest OP6 manual, theres no written VO procedure for post 6/26 MI.

"if someone who has spent a year or two in some other country 20 or so years ago. Why would the PCC from that country have to be less than 3 months old?... three months, a year or five years would not change the content of that report... very puzzling."

yes it is not clear in this regard. no one has discussed it in foruim yet. but it must be very common situation for many members. give your views. plz.

hi all
i want to share what happened to me on june I sent my simple application on 22 june but it reached there on 29 june after the changed i wrote to them through my visa office and cic and called dirctly but told me that they had not any record of me after about 4 month i received my application back and reapply again with full document that was ready for AOR during four monthes i've read the june forum regularly and found out that completeness cheks in CIO and elgibility will review by experts in VO there was only one guy whose applcation rejected after charging the reason was job description althoug they were very busy they informed him soon so i think after charging all things have done with CIO but there is long backlog in each visa office. new delhi VO was fast and they receved their AOR sooner than others
so for those who their money chrged shoul be relax and those who their money have not yet charged repply soon

Good idea body. I think there have already been meetings between Egyptian applicants and immigrants in Cairo, Alex, SA and UAE, but more meetings are certainly welcomed. Personally, I met few people from Egyptian Talks and AlMatareed forums including the famous guy Al-Tohamy and the meetings were generally fruitful. I live in Abu Dhabi and will be happy to meet applicants (from all nationalities) across the UAE. Unfortunately, I don't go to Egypt frequently and don't intend to be there soon, but in case, I'll be glad to have a gathering with applicants there.
Thanks for the idea.

Wanted to quickly report something, I am at work...

I just got a call for immigration at Ottawa... I had written to the minister regarding a personal issue and they were kind enough to call me back.

The lady told me that CIO is four months behind, and to expect AORs four months after the day they have cashed your application... So in my case, CC charged in mid September, I can expect something in mid-January

Good luck to all,
Cam

Hi Vari:

I wrote to the Minister's office on a personal issue, link to the Minister's email is on the first page of the immigration Canada website:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/index.asp

However, this office does not have any contact with the actual application process conducted at CIC, to find out what has happened to your application call the number that has been mentioned on this forum and give your personal information. I don't have the number, look in the past posts here, it has been written several times.

Good luck,
Cam
