Well guys, people think that this post 26 june arrangement was to reduce time. It was not. It was to clear backlog. So CIC staff are going to clear back log till then. If they wanted the quick system, they had one Pre June 26. People are getting visas who had applied in Jan and feb of 2010. The post June 26 application process was designed to reduce number of applications (only 20,000 max) and if they do the completeness check for 20,000 and then the amount of visas will be much less as few will drop off after eligibility checks for sure. Esp those who are borderline cases. So the post 26 june system is only designed to clear backlog, nothing else. And that is what they are doing.

After reading the 1 Nov 2010 immigration report, it is more to clear backlog.

They do not say anything about new system, all the emphasis is to clear backlog. May be by June 2011 they may say that out of 300,000 they have just few thousand applicant as backlog.

Looks like after few months CIC has successfully implemented a online software to push the data on website on daily basis.

Thanks it give some information, although half information is aways bad as it opens lot of assumptions, what we are having at this moment

Hopefully noc 1122 CAP would be over by end of today, Canada business day

Goddammit I've been checking that all day so I could be the first to post it here, and they go and update it whilst I was away from my desk on a bathroom break! :) Doesn't look like Canada is going to increase it's Crane Operator populus any time soon.....

Ok I just added you. Can I please ask which visa office you are using?
Looking through the spreadsheet I some of them have taken up to 2 weeks so I wouldn't worry until you get past 2 or 3 weeks if your card hasn't been charged. Depends on whether or not you sneaked into the cap I guess! Fingers crossed.

Cheers,
Wayne.

Thanks again for the update.

I saw the spreadhseet, assuming everyone updates the timelines of CC/BD etc., then it is a fair estimate.

P.S. Our intake office is Nova Scotia, Sydney and the application is to be processed through Buffalo, NY if passed eligibility , etc.

The main reason they had formerly (pre-June-26) given prior to "new" applications was because these represented the in-demand skills that Canada needs NOW. The list was changed from 38 to a new 29 list just a few months ago because these are 29 most in-demand occupations CURRENTLY.

If they are going to process 400,000 backlog applications prior to turning their attention to post-June-26 applications, there hardly seems any point in having an in-demand list does there?

I guess we'll know for sure if and when pre-Feb-2008 applicants start reporting significant movement before post-June-26-2010 applicants start getting AORs. Until then I am reserving judgement, since what is being suggested involves CIC doing a complete U-turn on their policies, and I don't see how creating a second backlog is going to help - this is one of the things Minister Kenney was quite vocal in wishing to avoid.

Ok I updated your row to say Buffalo VO. Incidentally, did you include your PCC (Police Clearance Certificate) with your application?

Wayne.

you are right, it does not make sense for them

Yes, PCC was included. We applied for it before CIC posted amendment so PCC was already available, even though not required by Sydney now :)

Wanted to quickly report something, I am at work...

I just got a call for immigration at Ottawa... I had written to the minister regarding a personal issue and they were kind enough to call me back.

The lady told me that CIO is four months behind, and to expect AORs four months after the day they have cashed your application... So in my case, CC charged in mid September, I can expect something in mid-January

Good luck to all,
Cam

If they are expecting a four month delay, why are they telling everyone 33 weeks? And why have they still said nothing on their web site of the delays?

Just crazy really!
