Very nice assessment Anil. However the website clearly states "Total complete applications received since June 26, 2010" & not eligible applications. These are applications that have passed only the completeness check & not yet reviewed for eligibility.
Another thing that Wayne has mentioned may be pertinent is that their might be no "AOR's". The application will be transferred to the Visa Office for final determination & Background check & the applicant will receive any kind of communication thereafter only. The File no. may be conveyed by CIO Sydney, but it is of no consequence in the current process as documents are not to be submitted at Visa Office.
The reason the pre-26 June process had 2 AOR's was because the forms were submitted twice & both times a file no. was created for Office records of that particular office (CIO, Sydney & CHC, VO).
This may not be the case with post 26 June applicants & VO will not give a new file number as it is not required.
Anyways time will tell the exact procedure that will be followed...

It's me again :)

I read 'Applications received toward the overall cap: 2,226 of 20,000 as of October 19, 2010' and not 'Applications received by CIO under FSW1 as of Oct 19.

Clearly they must have passed through eligibility review and not necessarily ALL applications received until Oct 19 are included in this number. Elsewhere they have stressed on the point that only 20000 applications would be considered for processing this year and that an application would be considered for processing only if it passes an eligibility review, else the application will be returned with a refund.

Dear yukon....

As far as I think it is a very normal / general statement for an application to be complete. What I mean is - CIO won't specify that following have completed / cleared 'Eligibility Review' AND following -'Completeness Check' ... ??? ??? Definitely it will be more clear ..... but CIO won't be having this idea even in their wildest dream that we will be taking all this nomenclatures so seriously!!!! :'( :'( When CIO has mentioned that applications received / considered for CAP, it infers that eligibility review has completed.

As for AOR is concerned ....I too mentioned specifically that Here AOR means ..................basically a form of communication .... (remember when someone asked about AOR...they were ignorant about the term itself!!!) ...What Wayne has said may very well be possible.... moreover it is also possible that the 'Completed Application' will be sent to VO, along with our reference letter (generated by CIO) + VO may add their piece of mind ....and then will be sent to the applicants ??? ::) :'( ......... We have to wait......

Cheers, Anil

Well the list was brought out on Oct 19 which is a Tuesday, and the ECAS system is updated on a Tuesday. So with any luck CIC will update this list every Tuesday in line with the ECAS updates - so maybe we'll know more tomorrow.

Pls. read this OP6 Manual:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op06-eng.pdf

Pg-10- "A maximum of 20,000 FSW applications, without an AEO, will be considered for processing each
year by the CIO".

When it says "considered" it probably means that completed applications are counted towards the CAP & not necessarily passed eligibility. Else they could have stated 20,000 Visas will be issued by CIO.

Pg-14 & 15 (Read 7.1, 7.2 & 7.3) - Procedure: Applications received at the CIO on or after June 26, 2010.
Read about the MI to determine eligibility for processing. At this stage only the MI is checked & not the supporting documents.

Rgds,
Evidence to consider when making the final determination of eligibility for processing:

Review the application and determine whether it meets all the criteria of the MI. To be eligible for
processing under these Instructions the applicant, on the date of application, must:
• have experience in the last ten years under one or more (see note below) of the National
Occupation Classification (NOC) codes specified in the MI, and the application does not
exceed the maximum of 20,000 new, complete applications per year with no more than 1,000
applications of this maximum in any one NOC category;
or
• have an Arranged Employment Offer (AEO) consistent with requirements of subsection
R82(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).

Note: Applicants must have at least one year of continuous full-time or equivalent paid work experience
in at least one of the listed NOCs and not combined partial year experience in multiple NOCs.
Anticipated short breaks between jobs are acceptable. For example, if an applicant is employed in one
occupation for a 4 month contract and before the end of that contract, has secured other employment
that will begin shortly after the end of first contract, this break in continuity would be acceptable. The
occupation must be listed in the MI.

Basically what I meant was that it not that 2226 AOR's are confirmed to be issued.

Out of these 2226 applications they will be subjected to processing steps as done at Visa Office Level before giving an AOR.

Section -11 of the OP-6 guide. Also it says that CIO will notify the applicant, so it means an acknowledgment of some sort will be conveyed soon to these 2226 applicants.
