First, congratulations to the person who had his cc encashed,

2nd, I do not have an explanation why some are being so rapidly encashed while others are delayed, but as I was checking the June applicants pre the 25th I noticed something really interesting, though some of them -pre 25th June applicants- had their CCs/BDs encashement later than others, still they received their AORs before some of those who had their CCs/BDs encashement earlier!!!

I believe that -till now- we haven't actually figured out how their system works. I believe that some important factor is missing in our assumptions.

I agree with you on all these items specially that the cap is not filled because one item of the completness test is you have a place in the quota that is also clear to me as we write the NOC on the envelope from outside so to ease for them to return the app. even before look inside

another thing if they processing the 23rd august people so this mean they will send the AOR's in order after june applicant so we just had to wait and keep waiting till the first known person will recieve AOR

what make me worried that there is no order in cashing the cc like some one within 1 day another after 1 month i don't know why the delay ??? what you people think

Well 2 seperate people on the May thread said they phoned CIC - one said they told him 23rd August and the other said they told him 24th August. So whereas it is technically a rumour, it is a fairly credible one unless you think both of these members were lying!

So IMO I think many of the eligibility reviews have been done for July/Aug - however I think they may possibly be holding back the AORs until the 20,000 cap is reached. Just my thoughts/guesses.

Regarding your thoughts and what is "in process". Yes "in process" means visa office are performing all the background checks, and it is true that only visa office can make a final decision on granting a visa.

However, I think what the posters meant by processing in this case was the CIC eligibility review, which is carried out at CIC Sydney, Canada prior to issuing AOR and sending application to visa office.

people, what was the phone number we can use (with 1-2-1-2-1 option, or vice versa) to call and figure out about these 23-24th August processings? let someone call them to have 3rd poster confirm progress, I can do it but tomorrow evening

Dear Basmalah

In the instruction guide they mentioned that there are some factors which cause the delay in the processing (but don't cause rejection), i think those factors might be:
- The documents in the submitted file are not well organized corresponding to the check lists.
- Some of the documents are not translated into english.
- The applicant name is slightly different from a document to another (wrong spelling).

So i think that is why some applications are processed faster than others.

Yeah, I guess if someone had such mistakes, the delay would be validated.
I know some people who assure they haven't made those mistakes and nevertheless their CCs aren't encashed yet..

Do you think all the delayed encashements are included in those points?

I suppose another issue that would determine how fast the post 25 June applicants would receive their “AOR” would depend on the role CIO plays as oppose the pre 26 June applicant. If they merely "pass" the file to the respective VOs after, say, the eligibility review, then there seem little reason for a delay in releasing the AORs other than to facilitate determining whether the cap limits have been met.

So far, from the applications returned, we can assume that they do some form of check on the completeness of the forms, documents submitted (may be just a quick look), and even opening the sealed envelope containing the photographs. Other than that we have practically no idea.

On the issue of why some of the CCs are being charged relatively much sooner nowadays, it could very well be that they are just being practical. I suppose the volume of applications received by them on a daily basis is probably substantial now; and should they wait till the end of the completeness check to charge/encash CC/BDs, they may well have a number of expired BDs!

If CIO is processing till 24 Aug 2010 and informing this over phone (call center agents) then what it may be stopping them to publish over website

What's not clear is what the dates 23/24 August refer to. Was this applications received on these dates, or CC/BD charged/cashed on these dates? Most of the timescale feedback people have received from CIO refer to time since CC/BD cashed.

So, if they are working on encashments from 24th August, and the earliest post-June-26 encashment was around 5th September, we might expect them to start on our applications in a couple of weeks, with AORs following within a few days of that.

So cross fingers for end of October for our first AORs!

Hmm firstly are you certain the draft is only valid for 3 months? Most drafts are valid for 6 months.
Secondly, if it runs out in two weeks then the original draft must have been drawn up at the end of July. Why did you get your banker's draft done an entire month before you mailed your application?

Anyway firstly double check with your bank to ensure it is definitely 3 months, not 6 months. If it is 3 months then IMO you really ought to call CIC. It'll probably take a while to get through but they should at least be able to tell you if they have, or are intending, to cash your draft - especially if you explain your position that it expires in 2 weeks.

hey colleagues,

I wonder for those whom have had their documents sent back to them, what kind of agent did CIO use to send back the documents ! is it courier,, specifically dhl, fedex or a certain name or CIO just send the documents back by regular mail ??

And if anyone knows how long does it exactly take to return back the package. I have read lots of different assumed dates starting from a month and reach 2 and a half. Any real cases to build up on pls ?

I have had my documents sent on the 10th of september NOC 3131 and no news yet. I haven't had my BD enchashed nor recieved an email or a mail , so what do you think ?
