Thank you for all replies.
Actually,i've got all docs already except IELTS TRF.
Last time i took an academic module for educational purpose.
That's why i have to resit IELTS again.
Is it OK if I send IELTS TRF (academic)?

Chima

Hello Chima1980,

Please note that you will have to provide the General Training IELTS results ONLY if you are applying under FSW1 category after June 26 2010.

Thanks, and good luck for you to file your application ASAP :)

Dear Chima

IELTS (Academics) were acceptable till 04 Aug 10. After that CIO came out with an amendment OP06, clearly mentioning (page # 32) that IELTS (GT) has to be submitted.
Moreover, once you submit your TRF in original, you won't be having any proof for your educational purpose (in case they ask original for verification.............you have to request for a 2nd copy)
Give GT at the earliest ... don't wait for anything else!!! All the best.

Cheers, Anil

My application was received by CIO last september8 and included in that package is my academic IELTS(with my fingers crossed everyday not to see my package returned). Actually, I had a discussion with my consultant and they said that I can use that also. But I am not recommending that if you still have time to take a GT exam now, but the problem is cap would "probably" be filled up by november (But of course nobody knows this for sure). In short its upto you to take the risk. If you can sit in an exam within the month then thats better.

I would like to ask how long will it take them to return your package?

Hi Carl128,

Surprising your consultant said it's OK to send the academic IELTS results with your application :o :o. We hope your application is not returned for the same reason(Although we have not read about any application coming back for this reason, it is still a requirement that only general training IELTS results are to be provided with an FSW1 application). Now that you have submitted the application, you have the option to sit for a GT test and have the TRF ready with you, just in case you are lucky enough to be asked for the same, or worst cases, you can reapply immediately after your application finds it's way back.

About the time to get your package returned, it might be anywhere from 1 to 2 months, 40 days average.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hi Cappuccino:

Many things make no sense to me. First, Why are they cashing some CCs and BDs right now and not cashing others?

Furthermore, why would they cash so many application fees now and go to 30,000 or 40,000 etc, and then have to return the ones over the cap. Remember it won't be easy with those who submitted BDs, applicants will not be able to cash the Canadian refund check easily in some countries...

Why add the extra work of cashing, so that later you have to refund 10,000 applicants or more!! How many man hours are wasted sending out 10,000 refunds? Wouldn't it make sense to cash only when eligibility has already taken place?

My point of view is, for an application to be considered to be complete, the fees has to be PAID to the CIC. As there would have been a lot of instances where the application forms are perfect, all documents are in place and they start processing them only to find out their payment has some errors/issues while trying to en-cash.

Also, the fees that we pay now is the PROCESSING fees and so it must be paid before they start to process the applications.

So, my guess is, if an application is deemed complete, and passes the first eligibility review under MI, then it will make it to the CAP and will receive an AOR as well.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

i actually pased my application with an ACADEMIC ielts TRF..for some reason my consultant also said it's ok..i'm more than hopeful this is acceptable since i already had my cc charged. :)

This is what i think - they will eventually consider all applicants who are eligible. But yeah, they will process first 1000/20000 applicants for this fiscal year and the rest who are eligible will be moved to the following fiscal year. And if one certain NOC has more applicants than their expectation - they will remove it from the list starting next fiscal year and deal with the applications submitted the current year. Please note that, last 38 occupation list was active for more than 2 years and this 29 list should stay at least two fiscal years as well.

The main reason they lowered the number is to entertain the applications from 2006-2008 that are still pending. They expect bulk of immigrants that would come to Canada will be from that backlog in coming few years.

Becasue, otherwise it just doesnt make any sense to accpet applicaiton.

Hi All,

One of my friend had a similar confusion and she had sent a query to visa office in Delhi , she got a written reply by VO Delhi saying Academic IELTS is acceptable under the new rules (post July 26, 2010)

I think CIC have given a option for general IELTS coz it is bit easier than the Academic one and chance of getting more score is higher in general compared to the academic one. I have taken both Academic for my CGFNS (Nursing exam for US) and general for Canada and I was able to score more points in general IELTS by God's grace.

Hope this would clear some confusion.

Cheers

Finally,I decided to launch my package next week.
For sure,it's too risky that CIO may return my application.
From Khai's case,CIO may accept the academic IELTS TRF.

Hi everyone, any AORs yet?

I can say with some confidence that people would be shouting very loudly on this thread indeed had they actually received an AOR! Quite worryingly, looking at the trends on the May and June applicants threads, there seems to have been no AORs issued to London or Buffalo applicants.

As I've already posted on the June applicants thread... if how busy the visa office is determines the delay in AOR, then I truly hope it does not delay an application from counting towards the 1000/20000 cap for post-June-26 applicants.

It would be grossly unfair for applications to get inside these caps, or fail to do so, purely on the basis of who their visa office is!

It may be that the eligibility reviews for offices like London and Buffalo are actually happening, but CIC is not sending the AORs until the file is actually ready to go, and busy visa offices may not yet be in a position to take more applications.

I tried contacting the Buffalo consulate with the question on photo copies vs. true-copy certification by notaries. I was rather surprised by the quickness of the response, and not so at the actual response.

My mail

Dear CIC Buffalo Office,

I am preparing documentation to be submitted for Federal Skilled Worker, and my visa office is Buffalo. Hence I would like to get a question clarified with your office.

Reading the instructions, I understand that unless ORIGINAL documents are requested, photocopies should be submitted as long as they are in English. If the requested documents are in English, are regular photocopies good enough, or should they be 'certified true-copy' by a notary?

I would greatly appreciate your clarification in this regard.

Thank you!
