Everyone knows that first 1.5 months after new rules, there were hardly anyone who arranged all documents and sent to CIO, but after that almost everyone sent documents at once. It is not surprising for me at all. Because it is not mentioned that CIO with take same number of applications every day.

As far as returning application are concern, I am pretty sure they change their number upon evey application returned. If they don't do it, there is no way that they can findout that how many applications they actually received. No matter if the application is approved or denied, they have to isue it a sequestial number. And that happens in US and Canada quite often. Because at some point in time, they have to show statistics.

Hi - yes ok that makes sense.

But it only tells us how many they actually received, not how many they put into processing. So if the number is 13,000 - some of those will be rejections. If a third were rejected it means only 10,000 count towards the total cap. Likewise for NOCs, if 700 were received for your noc and a third were rejected it's only like 450 which count towards the cap.

At least I hope that's how they are doing it. If it counts towards the cap the moment it is received, then an application which is re-sent twice actually counts as 3 applications towards the cap even though it is only 1, which would be just silly!

The numbers i am refering to are the total number of application. I never said it is counted toward the cap, but you can get a very good idea about the 1000 & 20000 caps with these numbers.

Yes it seems sensible now :)

Ofc we have to second guess what % they are rejecting, but if it's true it does give us a good idea of the rate at which the applications are coming in.

Perhaps if anyone else has had, or will have, their applications returned they can share the numbers written on theirs?

excellent info maani... great job

and thanks wayne for the analysis...

one thing that strikes me is that as per maani they started working on his file by 5.00 pm sept 5...(dont know how he came to know this)... and his CC was tried to be charged the next day..

if the CIO is charging the CC's at such a fast pace.. how come they havent charged any BD's
i feel it highly unlikely that they would wait for 1-2 weeks to take all the BD's at once to the bank

Going to check with my bank tomorrow. There WILL be a delay with BD's - takes around 48 hours to clear and that's after someone has taken it to the bank. It seems to make it would make sense to do these in batches.

Anyway if I hear anything positive when I call them tomorrow I will let you all know.

This is how i came up with 5:00 pm:

CIO received my package around 4:00 pm, as per DHL.

In the letter i received from CIO, which was dated as 02/09/2010 it says as of 01/09/2010 my application does not accompany a valid CC number. It doesn't say as of 02/09/2010. Govt. offices close at 5:00pm, so i am assuming that they tried to charge my CC right away. Or it can be a typo, but in that case they tried it on Sep 02, 2010. But in either case it was super fast.

Good news guys!!!!!

Just called up WellsFargo,, my BD got encashed today (16 Sep)...
i had also called yesterday and they had told it was still not cashed....

so guys they have started putting in the BD's :)

FYI.. the CIO had received my application on 30 Aug

Thanks
