Hi everyone, just an info to relieve your anxieties. If you have submitted your application to CIO and have not received a mail from them within a month to a month and a half, it means your safe, your application is accepted and will be put to process. However, if after a month of sending the application and a courier is giving you a thick envelope, it indicates that your application was returned and refused.

The CIO checks for eligibility of application within a week. If it is put to further process it will take more time or your payment is accepted, ie, bank drafts en-cashed or CC charged, which other forumers have experienced. On the other hand, if not eligible, within a week of receiving your file, CIO will return your application.

I have based these on my experience. I applied before the new rule of 6/26, I mailed my application on 6/24 then 6/26 rule came out. Very unfortunately, CIO received my file on 7/2. On 7/6 they have returned my application and informed me that it was incomplete. The post office received it on 7/22 and I have received it on 7/28.

Now, I am on the verge of tension, just like other members here as I have submitted my completed application again. It was received on 9/8. For me, if I didn't received any mail from them until 10/30, I will consider my file being accepted and in further process. Also, I will expect that Credit card as my payment will be charged until that date. If not, prepare for another battle - to secure additional requirements, as it indicates returned application due to incomplete requirements or info.

Mailed my application on June 23, under NOC 4131, reached CIO on 29th June. Did not hear anything from them so far.

When contacted citibank to enquire the status of the DD, they said they cant provide the information.

hey Indira,
u can use paper clip to separate the CIO & VO Papers...i did that...

Oh yes Anil, by default all photocopies are to be notarized :), also we will get photocopies of all pages of all passports(including the canceled ones) included in the application. We are not sure if we have to sort the VO documents and CIO documents separately?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

U mailed on 23 rd June to CIO according to old rules?
And they changed rules on 26th June...
so if u sent ur application according to old rules then it is unacceptable to CIO if it reached them after 26th JUne...Did u get any delivery date from courier/speed post people?
Better apply again with full documents support if ur application reached CIO after 26/06...

Hi Indira

You might have given it a thought...OR might have already considered.....
(1) ALL the photocopies are to be notarized, because at one place you wrote "notarized employment contract..."
So I am even getting the PP photocopies notarized...as they are not accepting PP for DoB proof 8) :o >:( ;D
(2) Related to PP again. CIO wants photocopy of Biodata pages (PA only). AND VO wants the complete set (PA + all). So decide accordingly.

I have not gone through your reply...will do it now..... We will be filing around 15 Sept 2010.

Cheers, Anil

I think so because on and after 26/6 will be follow new rules so if they reached after 26/6 your document will be not full and have to reapply for better way.

Hi,
My one friend's wife had travelled 12 years back to her home country for graduation. She graduated as a Private candidate but attended a private coaching center from where she had gotten her attendence certificate, but my friend query is that should he mention her wife's travel for graduation which was 12 years back from now.Inorder to get spouse points for education ,he wants to mention her journey too besides her tuition certificate?
