Fortunately, my IELTS score was ready and valid then, and I took a week-off from my work to collect the documents and fill the forms. I mailed the application on the 5th and they received it on the 9th July. I could have mailed it earlier but police certificates took sometime ;D

wow, that was fast asaif! best of luck :)

Dear fma,

I second Dr. Alex!

Dear Friends

Dear All

We got our visa stamped in march and planning to land in November, but we noticed that our last name printed as our surname, and we dont have any surname printed in our passports, it is blank.

Will there be any problem while landing? or do we need to send VO for changes?

Maani has already replied but I want some more to thru light on this topic, I really appreciate this thread started by FMA, and he is helping a lot God bless him, +1 from ME.

Appreciating ur comments.

regards
Tlub

Based on pre-26 June applicants getting AOR within approx. 2 months, post-26 june Early July applicants bank drafts should have been encashed by now...

anybody whose bank draft/credit card encashed by CIO?
Any July applicants..?

If someone can't get Birth Certificate don't worry:

Get two affidivits of births from two different people, who were present at the place of birth when you were born.

The affidivits should clearly mention the following:

Name of the person, who is writing the affidivit.
How that person is related to you (uncle, big bro, big sister, grandfather, etc)
The person who is writing affidivit, has to be adult at the time of your birth
Affidivits from grand parents are preffered.
Pleace of birth
time of birth
names of your other siblings
your rank among other siblings

and few more general things.

Affidivits always worked for me and my family, not only in Canada but also in USA

Dear Positive

This is in response to ur questions of this morning.

1- you will send PCC to VO once you get AOR from CIO, they will specify time limit within that time you have to appear for medical aswell and send to VO, otherwise ur file will be closed.

2- Anil rightly said, to reduce time limit and make process faster, they are asking complete documets to CIO once your application is assessed and found to be correct your will get AOR with file no. from CIO.

3- with this file no. u will be able to check ur estatus.

4- Pre 26/6 we need to send second set of complete doucments to VO, along with PCC and medical [which will be sent directly form your Physician]

5- Post 26/6 still no one received AOR. we dont know what they will come with and what changes will take place, as this is first year for CIC as well, they will take time to set things right, dont expect in one go that all the changes will take place correctly.

6- keeping in mind step 5, I advice all members to keep 2 sets of all documents, in case VO request documents u can send immediatly along with PCC after performing medicals, one copy will be in ur file for future reference.

Hope it is clear to u and all

Cheers

Hey guys

one more quick question. Is there any change in the birth certificate thing?

I dont have my birth certificate with me, what can we do about it.

Earlier they used to accept 10th certificate as birth certificate,

Hey Steve

You need not worry about the B/Certificate thing.... 8) This is for the post 26/6 cases. And I think you are in pre 26/6. So 10th class certificate will work for that matter. Chill.... :D

Cheers, Anil

thanks mani and anil

one plus for both of you guys
