hi all

do we need to send the 12th class(senior secondary ) notartized copies also...
may be a dumb question.. but just wanted to make sure...as they have written
in the Buffalo VO checklist to submit "Post-secondary education documents:vocational or technical certificates or diplomas;"

pls clarify

hi guys,
I have a question...are you sure that it's not nessesary to send PCC to the CIO in Sydney, Nova Scotia with my initial application?....plz ensure, cause they said that we must send all papers even the one in the VO instruction guide to CIO...thx all with my best wishes.

What updates issued in august?

People ???

Again and again i see the same question, should we send the PCCs with the initial application or not?

For applicants after NOV 2008, under the 38 occupations list, as far as my research would take me, the first AOR was received within 3 months(initial response from CIO and file transfer to VO), so assuming the same or something better for applicants post June 2010, under the 29 occupations list, we all would get responses within 3 months, and so it's unlikely our PCC would expire before we get an AOR and file transfer :) even better to send the most debated PCCs to CIO(the best thing is get 2 copies of the PCCs, one for the CIO and keep another for the VO), that case, you ensure you are not missed out just in case they change the rules and start arguing that they have mentioned all the documents in the VO needs to be submitted with the initial application. They have all rights to do so, as we are already struggling to get ourselves into the 1000/20000 cap :(..

There is no harm in sending an extra document :) They cant return the application stating that we are not supposed to send the PCC ;)

But we don't have an idea when they will ask for the VO documents, i mean if it takes more than a month to procure it? Also as we are sending all the VO documents with the initial documents, they are waiving the 120 days they usually give to collect the VO documents. So i'm sure we will not have time to apply, collect and submit the new PCCs then by the deadline.

Also they mention that we need to start collecting the PCCs by the time we send the CIO Application. Confused whether they will ask us to get new PCCs again. Anyway i guess the AORs should come in before 3 months and that relates to the dates of submission of the VO documents as well. So, if we get the PCCs Issued by the Sept 1st week, the deadline for it's expiry would be Dec 1st week. I guess we should get the AOR before the November 15th in the worst cases. If not, we can apply for an additional PCC set on Nov 15th for a nominal charge as we decided earlier.

This is only a small part of the risk we have decided to take already ;)

It's upto your discretion if you want to send the PCCs or not withe the original application.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hi,

Is it mandatory to get the PCC done from the passport office, or will the one issued from SP office do????????

I see most of the people getting it done from passport office, thus I have this doubt.

Hello Members
This is Anil from Hyderabad. And this is my first post..... 8) I am quite impressed the way people are replying to various queries. It is very very informative. Hats off to all members. I do have few queries.
(1) I have applied in May 2004 >:( ??? ...... still waiting for ANY response from higher ups ...... in a way they have become god for us :-X
(2) With the recent change my wife is now eligible (I guess!!!) to apply. We are planning to go ahead, this time my wife being PA.

Expert members... please suggest.

(3) The application asks for Proof of Birth ..... Can we submit a certified copy of 10th class certificate. I did the same for my case..... but at that time it was local VO (New Delhi).
(4) As for the PCC is concerned, their instruction clearly mentions(in bold) , 'NOT TO be sent to CIO'

Dear all, one more question, although, it seems very straight forward, still asking: Should we need to submit 1 set of all the documents or 2 set, i.e. 1 set for the CIO record and the other for the VO record????

As for the PCC's, I do appreciate Indira's insight and suggestion but since the new EG7 clearly mentions DO NOT send these to the CIO now, we need to follow the updated instructions!!! As for the VO check list, what I believe there's some human error involved and they should've deleted the PCC requirement from this form. Anyhow, although I do have my PCC's now, I am not sending them rather gonna mention this thing specifically in the coverletter. Hope all gets well!! Please pray mates! :)

Dear

PCc can be taken either from Passport office or Commisioner Police, it is easy to take PCC from Commisioner Policer rather than Passport office so go ahead and take PCc from your city CP office.

We have to send only 1 set to CIO as per their instructions (without PCC). Later when asked (by VO) we have to submit additional documents, if any along with the original PCC. We have to remember that this PCC should be taken within last 2 1/2 months (keeping 15 days as grace period) :-\
So we have to apply PCC as soon as we get CIO's confirmation, in case the receipt of PCC is taking not more than 2 weeks.
Rest don't worry...you will sail through...All the best :)

I agree with fma.
In case you are getting PCC from SP / Commissioner's office it is well and good. In many of the cities we have to get it done only through PP office. Police don't even entertain PCC. Otherwise if one know a senior official then it may help in getting the PCC faster from PP office.

Great job fma. Didn't go through the whole site, but had a glance. Keep posting. Thanks again.
BTW have a great landing ;D

Having sent in the PCC with full docs to CIO in late July (as it was the requirement of the day!), I am wondering if they will ask for them to be repeated, or if PCC's were within 3 months of the date of sending to CIO will they be acceptable for the duration of the process? If not, would one have to get repeat PCC's for ALL their countries of more than 6 months residence, or just the one in which they most recently lived????
