Hi everyone,

I hope someone can help me with this question: ???

Are selection criteria scores re-evaluated after your status changes or are they always based on your status
at the time of sending your application?

I appreciate any insight on this issue.
Keep the faith

More details: {for the interested reader :) }
I've been studying full time in a Canadian University for more than 3.5 years now.
According to the CIC website (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/factor-adaptability.asp),
I can get 5 Selection Factor scores in the adaptability section for studying more than two years in a
Canadian university. I couldn't get these points at the time I applied but now I apparently can.

The adaptability points would be granted if you have COMPLETED a program of full-time study of at least two years’ duration at a post-secondary institution in Canada.

Have you completed the program or is it still ongoing?

Points are evaluated at CIO stage for the eligibility 67 points and then later at VO's desk after further scrutinization of the docs provided by the applicant.

Thanks Mitali! I see your point! I guess I was misled by the next line which says
"There is no need to have obtained a degree or diploma for these two years of study to earn these points."

However, my general question is still unanswered. Will the VO calculate my score based on the documents I sent at the time of application or will they consider any updates? for example , if i had finished the program or simply get married to a Canadian, will that affect my selection factor score?

Yes, you need to update your VO if there is any change to the initial application - like change in job, getting a degree/diploma/certificate/ marriage/birth.

Points will be re-calculated with the new information that you provide. I am sure you are aware that increasing your point above 67 does not make any difference for "ELIGIBILITY" criteria. But you definitely need to update your VO.

You seem to be to well-informed about this issue. I am under the assumption that being way above 67 might make your case
stronger than being borderline. I applied with 68 points.
Thanks anyways. :)
