CHHOTTI & Harry, Thanks a mil for your warm wishes! :-*

Wish you very speedy processing as well ;)

Congrats to all who got DM.

It's the beginning of an adventure.

Live your dreams.

I just feel like venting today. I think the Skilled Workers immigration program is extremely unfair. The CIC website advertised that the process should take approximately 6-12 months and 2 years late some people still have not received a Medical request...this is false advertising and it is wrong. People have their lives to live and can't remain in limbo. Many professionals will have to go back to school for at least a year before we can practice in our professions so we need to know where we stand. If Canada does not want applicants from some country then they should let us know clearly and not mislead people. We are investing our finances,emotions, time and talents in this process and they can at least give us a feedback every 6 months or something. Settling in Canada is not easy and as the years pass we are getting older and it is ridiculous to expect people to just be sitting and waiting without proper
correspondence. We also have to be keeping our money in the back just in case they call on us suddenly; this is not fair as we could be investing our money in land, property education etc... All I'm asking for is a little communication and honesty...One love forum family and best wishes to successful applicants.

I have requested to change my Postal Address through a Case Specific Enquiry, and after few days got the reply that the change has been updated in my file. However after 2 months still my e-case shows the old address, any ideas ?
I am afraid I will miss any correspondence sent to old address if it is still not changed.

Secondly, How the Medical Examiner treats Diabetics, is it considered as dangerous, will it effect you case, are there any additional tests done for Diabetics patients, if yes than what tests?, Lets say if we the Doctor doesn't ask and you Doesn't declare by your self that you are diabetic, so is there any way they will come to know about your diabetic history ?

First, don't worry about Ecas. It isn't updated regularly.

Second, if your glucose had been under control for the past 3 months, they will not be able to know.
When they know someone is Diabetic it doesn't affect the application as long as he has no complications e.g. Kidney disease. Therefore when they know that someone is Diabetic they ask for an additional test for testing kidney functions; serum creatinine.

I advise you to be frank & not to worry & that was what we did in my family. Though the additional test will delay your application a step further.

That is it.
Good luck

CANADIAN IMMIGRATION SYSTEM AMENDED

Regulations Amending the Canadian Immigration System Announced
Vol. 146, No. 33 — August 18, 2012
Ref: http://gazette.gc.ca/rp-pr/p1/2012/2012-08-18/html/reg2-eng.html

HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Creation of an additional class -- the FSTC (Federal Skilled Trades Class);
2. FSTC applicants must have LMO, Trade Cert., minimum IELTS score and 2-yrs experience;
3. CEC (Canadian Experience Class) qualifying requirements reduced to 1-yr (from current 2-yrs.);
4. All applicants will now have to get their Foreign Educational Credential assessed before applying;
5. Education points rearranged;
6. Work experience points reduced;
7. Work experience raised from 4-yrs. to 6-yrs to get maximum score (15-points)
8. Consideration for AEO (Arranged Employment Offer) removed & replaced with LMO (Labour Market Opinion);
9. Minimum score of 67 continues -- but the criterion (per sub-category) is rebalanced;
10. A minimum IELTS score (4-points per ability) is required to be qualified to apply;
11. Favouring younger applicants (Age score revised: Maximum 12-points for ages between 18-35. No points beyond age 46);
12. Adaptability points rearranged. Now previous Canadian employment history fetches maximum score (10-points);
13. Spousal education points replaced with spousal language points;
14. Introduces a Minimum Age criteria for relatives (minimum 18-yrs.) in Canada (adaptability points);
15. Discontinuance of adaptability points from spouses who are Canadian citizen or PR;

BOTTOMLINE:

These changes come from the various consultations CIC had been doing with stakeholders since the last year. Which is aimed towards a faster immigration process for the applicants, as well as considering their ease of settlement in Canada. Basically the economic class (FSW & CEC) gets FSW being split into two -- FSWC & FSTC, with CEC being continued with more gusto. And more significance being given to the applicants Age & Language skills (which we had been expecting since last year). The main idea being to have new immigrants who are "ready for work" immediately upon their 'landing' - rather than 'draining' the various welfare schemes.
