Hi everyone!

Just wanted to put this up here.

We got our medical request on February 25, 2012. The letter was dated February 15, 2012. And finally, we completed our medicals today, on March 26, 2012.

It was a two step process. We went to the DMP first on March 20. They took all the lab tests, history, eyesight test etc. that day for me and my wife. They just took a physical exam of my children. Then, we went today for the physical exam of myself and my wife. And that was it.

And now it's, hopefully, just a game of wait and see, I guess. :-)

Respects to all.

Raheel

HEARTIEST CONGRATULATIONS ;D ;D
WISH YOU A SPEEDY VISA PROCESSING !!

Dear forum members and experts,

Need your advice. We, me and my spouse are planning to land in Canada in June. After a short stay of about 10 days, my wife will return back to our native country due to personal reasons. No my question is there any time span restrictions for her to return back to Canada. If so pls let us know the time.

Please advice.

Thanks and regards

No problem dear,

Your wife can come back to her native country after her stay of 10 days in CANADA.... if she is returning back to CANADA then she must have her PR card along with her unless she can not reenter to CANADA..... PR can be issued in a month or a month and half to the address you gave it at the time of landing (only within CANADA) and its your responsibility of sending her PR card to her at her native country..... There is no restriction of # of days to Stay in CANADA for PR after your first landing..... Restriction is applied only when you applied for CITIZENSHIP......

I agree with AVSNEH. Not just citizenship, if you are planning to land in ontario, Then you cant apply for OHIP (Government Health insurance) for her until she returns back.

Thanks,
satya.

dear raheel,
congratulations on completing ur medical.
by the way, who was ur dmp?
we completed our medical in one go.
every thing completed same day and whole process completed in 2 hours for family of 4
cheers

Thanks, man! :)

Our DMP was Dr. Abdul Wakil at IOM. The folks there told us they try to do everything the same day but sometimes due to the number of examinees, they have to spread the examination over two days.

I dont know what your friends are saying.. Few points to understand and agree are:

1) Moving to a new place will cause some disturbance in routine life.
2) Will face challenges initially - Job search, house search, Friends search.. lot of search activity will happen.
3) Time required to settle down properly.
4) Servant maids are not available to work. So, every thing should be done by our self.
5) You may have to use public transit until you buy car..
6) Last but not least, You will miss home.. (parents, friends, some events, celebrations, fast food etc etc)..

I think people should be ready for these even before applying for PR.. Rest every thing will be smooth enough.. I gaurantee.. ;)

Thanks,
satya.

Hey Satya,

+1 for this.....We decided on landing in Toronto & would be staying there too !!
