Hey Everyone,

I hope all doing well...

I had my one to one session at CIIP today, after attending my full day session yesterday.... I must say it was tooooo good & should be attended by each & every person going to Canada...

Our 1st session was on 14th Feb the Tuesday:-

Started with Shawn who gave an introduction on what Ciip is all about..

Then with Param who gave us an overview on the places to land & a discussion on why other places then major cities like Toronto or Vancouver..

Followed with a session with Beryl, she gave us the knowledge on the Bridging programs, credential assessment & it's importance, Essential skills that you carry which can help you get the job etc...

Then with Shikha who gave us an overview on local transport, sites to visit, govt. agencies for newcomers, & lot more...

15 Feb Wednesday

morning had sessions with our contacts in Canada for anything everything with an overview on different cities (Education, job opportunities)starting from:-

Lina (direct contact for education in Vancouver)

Elena (for Edmonton)

Rena (for Ontario)

All three were very helpful in answering our question & provided us with loads of information...

Ollie (Job opportunities) he is the direct contact for the companies with the vacancies

Then one to one session with Beryl & Ollie to create MAP (My Action Plan) for our success in Canada after landing....

There was a lot more where to land, cost of living in different cities, regulated & non regulated professions, Canadian style resume making, cover letter & lot's more....

So a must attend session would definitely help people migrating to Canada...

Thank you
God bless All,
Regards,
Arun

I don't think there is... But if you have registered on the CIIP website, you can have email notifications of upcoming sessions from them and you can know in advance if a session is being held in Ahmedabad in the near future... Btw, am too from Ahmedabad and waiting to know of a session here :)

I have just sent off my MR, PP, RPRF, PCC... How about the status of your application?

You may get your passports with PR visa & COPR in one week also if deposited on or before Thursday.
All the best.

Hi Harsh,

You will find all the details of my application by my profile... Processing started Dec 2, 2011 and I got MR on Feb 6th... I have now sent the docs (reached NDVO) on Feb 11th...

Thanks for the info.

Just one more question is that you received your MR within 66 days of your status gone to IN process.

Mine has been more than that time limit. Should I go for CSE? because my agent is suggesting that it may take 2 months or 4 to 6 months.

Dear seniors
my ecase status is showing
my current home address as
Toronto, Ontario
Canada
earlier before 27th feb it was showing my consultants canadian address. what does it mean? :o :o :o :o :o :o
what does it mean. :)
more input is rquested :)

Rayon,

There are lot of people whose E-cas had seen some changes regarding address. nothing worked out so far, as per my knowledge. Even there was a change in my address too. In my address section, they made into two pieces. 1) Residential address 2) mailing address. There is nothing else. I dont want to create hope and then put you down. So, I just said this. :-X

But, there are chances that something may happen soon. Because you are very close to the final stage.

At the least, you can be happy that some one is looking at your file. :P :P :P

This is what I know of.

Any one else?

Thanks,
satya.

At last some change on ecas. "Your application was reviewed and we started processing on January 31, 2012." One day after my birthday and after 1 year and 4 months since application was submitted!

Hi, Congratulations on some movement on your file.

thanks in advance.

Everybody is always thanking in me. Fair play.

Yes, my address disappeared on the 27th of January and is not yet back.

How's Vancouver?

Well quite rainy this time of year. Although we had a fairly nice couple of weeks. Before that we had an cold patch that left us stranded at home for a week (thankfully I could work from home on my work laptop, but my wife had to take the week off work since she's currently working part time in a shopping maul).

Still lots to do and explore at the moment, just finding out feet at the moment. We lost a lot of money selling our house in the UK, so having to gently replenish our savings.

Cool thanks. I was hoping that almost 2 years of a drammatically reduced FSW1 intake would help the visa offices to really get efficient with processing applications.

But regrettably even post-June-2010 have vastly differing timelines. Like I know of people who got their visa 4 months after their application arrived at CIO. And some post-June-2010 like yourself are still waiting 1.5 years later.

I think Canada needs to get the process streamlined down to 6 months from start to finish, or they will risk losing some highly skilled people to other countries like Australia/NZ etc.

Best of luck to those still waiting,

Wayne.

Every year lost awaiting visa is a year of productivity lost.

Age does not stop for the issue of visas,

I hope CIC understands this.
