This is new addition in NDVO's standar letter...it wasnt before....earlier they asked to send proof of medical..whichis receipt.

Now i think DMP will give u photocopy of the medical form which u need to send to NDVO

Also u need to take photocopy( my DMP sked for color copy) of PP....n i think this will b returned to u by DMP after signing or stamping..watever.

rest everything is ok

Ya you are right... this is a new addition... Thanks for confirming!! So if they return me the photocopy of the PP that I take to the DMP, the same stamped one has to be sent to NDVO, right? (For us too, DMP has asked for a coloured copy and a b/w copy of our PPs)

right right :P

I have one more question:

My letter from NDVO asks me to send "Valid passport or travel document yourself and Spouse/Common-law partner". My question is do I need to send the old PPs for my husband and me (irrespective of whether we have travel history in the old PPs or not)? Canadestin has already provided me his inputs on this... Wanted to grab some more views... :o

Hi Bhakti,

Whenever you are providing your passports for any immigration purpose or visa stamping.. what ever it is.. your old passport should be included along with your new passport. It doesnt matter whether you have any travel history or not. Your passport speaks alot about you .. Not just travel history..

This is what I think.

Thanks,
satya.

Thanks, satya! I did send them complete travel history for both of us and notarised copies of both the old and current PPs on Jan 25 (as I hadn't sent with my application)... and thereafter I have received MR, PPR and RPRF request on Feb 6... so do you still opine I should send old ones even though they ask only "Valid passport or travel document yourself and Spouse/Common-law partner"? Please don't mind... Just confirming!

Not an issue. Its always good to confirm sensitive items before acting..

Yes!! They are asking for a valid passport.. But, they didnt say.. "Dont send old passport"... They have the notarized copies.. agreed.. As per the law, your passports should be together.. No matter what..

Also, there is no harm in sending old passport along with your new passport. Because, Your old passport has a "Cancelled" status on the first page itself where Visa officer will know what it is.. So, I wouldnt worry to send both passports even though its not required(if some one says that its not required)...

Okay in that case... there's a catch with my old PP :P

My old PP has that surname of mine which was changed by my father later... So the new passport is with my new surname... This change of surname was done with all legal requirements and all my docs henceforth have been with my new surname... Now, I am just skeptical of sending the old PP coz I fear they might raise a query on the different surnames used in both and then I will waste time sending proofs for the change of surname (affidavit etc - which my father is not able to dig out right now as it is a 15 years old story)... So for this reason, I thought if sending old PPs isn't extremely crucial, I might avoid any delays / hassles due this confusion of different surnames... If it was a straightforward old PP (like that of my husband), I would not have thought twice in sending old one...

y do NDVO asks to submmit Previous PP's ?....bcos they want to check.

if they dont want ...they just ask to submmit VALID PP

NDVO knows much abt it...so send what they ask

huh...if it is a standard letter (send valid pp)which they send to everyone....then i wud suggest u to send old pp too...

but it isnt...for some they ask previous pp n for some they dont.

Satya.

its understood that when VO ask to submmit VALID PP....we shud send VALID/current PP only ...if they want previous ..VO asks to submmit PREVIOUS PP'S ...which they did ask for few applicants.

and huh...if every applicants keep sending previous pp's even though he/she is not asked for...then for sure VO will change the letter pattern...n include DONT SEND OLD/PREVIOUS PP as said by satya...or one standard letter for everyone...which says...SEND ALL OLD/PREVIOUS/CURRENT PP'S

hi, Friends,
i need your valuable advice. i got my passport back with COPR, I gone through COPR ,AND find small mistake, in the COPR, there is 25 to 40 column, and in 32 column which is reflect medical validity, and it shows 22/12/12 in my wife's COPR, while in my and my son's COPR shows 30/12/12, we did our medical on 31/12/11, so it should be 30/12/12, which is incorrect in my wife's COPR. my visa validity is 22/12/12. so i think they printed visa validity instead of medical validity. it can create any problem?.we will land before visa expire, so it is ignorable mistake or not? or i should inform to NDVO. all other information are correct.

Visa validity n medical r linked....with PP validity...what is the expiry of urs/spouse n son's PP validity?

Just thot of one reason why VO doesnt ask for previous PP's......to reduce cost.

suppose a applicant has 2-4 pp's..den the postal charges will cost more to VO..bcos VO returns them thru Registered Post...n Post Office weighs the parcel and charge accordingly. :P
