About eye test, I used to wear spects before, had slight shortsight but i discarded it around 4 years ago since i felt comfortable without it. Should i get my eyesight checked and get new glasses before medicals? Is there a need for that?

Its a very general check up........if possible go with your specs.........dont worry..........they will ask you to read few lines as we have seen on any eyesight clinic.....thats it

i dont even see a point in checking eyesight.......how could anyone's eyesight pose a probable threat on canadian's medical system or people's health

MY DMP mentioned that if the eyesight is 6/6 & 6/9 then there is no need for any specs prescription. However 6/12 and above will need specs(obviously) and in that case you will have to carry your prescription. If you are able to see clearly & comfortably, i don't see the need for eyesight checkup. However it is totally your call Angel31 All the best
