Congratulations, Shalom.

May I suggest that you leave it until after Christmas now, though?
Flights will be double and more what you would have to pay after Christmas.

If you haven't sorted accommodation out, then a rental will most likely start on the 1st of the month and as most people will not want to move until after Christmas rentals will be few.

You will also pay a huge premium for temporary accommodation in a hotel/motel/guest house; that is, if you can find any vacancies.

Lastly, the first few weeks of emigrating can be lonely and a bit worrying and stressful, so watching everyone else get on with their holiday plans and full of Christmas spirit while you as a new immigrant are all alone without friends and familiar things can make it much worse - I would advise using Christmas in the UK to have a lovely last goodbye to family and friends and then go to Canada in the New year when it will be cheaper, easier and much less stressful.

If you choose to go now, of course, the best of luck with everything.

Queencougar,
Thank you very much for your useful advise.
We don't really have family members in the UK (apart from 2 cousins), though we have some wonderful friends. We have some relatives in Toronto including my mother-in-law.
My mother-in-law is anxiously waiting for us to celebrate the Christmas with her. She has not seen my children since they were born. Besides, my wife has not seen her sister for more than 10 years. We are actually looking forward to a big Christmas party.
In terms of ticket price, Air Transact is giving us a very good deal to Toronto directly. They are giving us £1100 for five people compare to others charging more than £2000.
Thank you for your concern and advice.
Hope you are having a good time with your husband.
Best wishes to you in your application.

Shalom
