Dear friends,
Thank you all for your wishes but I could not submit our passports today.
I am faced with another challenge that may delay our visa.
I am shocked to say that we cannot find our baby's passport.
We have searched every where I think it should be but Im still not able to find it.
I called my embassy and they gave me a depressing news.
The embassy said that they cannot issue a replacement instead the baby will have to travel to Nigeria to obtain another one.
I have not applied for his UK residence permit yet. If he leaves, he cannot come back without a visa. I don't know if I can get an urgent visa for him from Nigeria.
Im still searching and hope I see it so I can submit next week
I am confused guys. Your comfort and advice are invaluable right now

Shalom.....

Dont worry.....you will find it at home sooon ...I am sure. Just be calm (I know it is difficult to remain calm)....and try to search one place at a time instead of putting all the house upside down at the same time.

Did you take the passport to any shop to be photocopied and left it there??

I will pray to GOD to give you more patience and a cool head to find the Passport of your baby.

Mitali

Keep looking. It's there somewhere hidden in your locker. If it helps, just remember when did you use it last time and something might strike !!!

Look at that side too, you haven't looked there.....That side too !!!

It happens with all of us. We tend to forget many things but it resurfaces after 3-4 days !!! Just keep looking.

Your fellow NOC 1122--Oct. 25 applicant--Nov. 1st CC charged--Feb. 16th PER recepient applicant wishes you all the good luck !!!

Important

Has anybody read this before?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/service-standards.asp

It says their service standard for Skilled workers: (received 26JUN10 to present) is 1 year and for Canadian Experience Class is 10 months!

Hi Mari:

Good to hear from you. Yes, I had seen that page, and it is correct. 80% of applications have been serviced within 1 year. Almost everyone has their visas except three visa offices: Buffalo (by far the worst), London and Accra

Thank you very much.
The funny thing is that we have only used it once - during medical. I have called DMP and its not there
All our passports are kept in the same place.
After getting ready to go to London VO, I asked my wife to get the passports and she came back with all except the baby's.
This is the third time something is missing in our application - baby's application, wife's X-ray and now baby's passport.
Thanks for your comfort. The search continues through out the night.

You are back on the forum !!! Keep looking and don't come back until you find it. Just kidding !!

You eventually triumphed on the previous two occassions and so it shall be for the third !!!

Shalom1:
I read your last post with a such heavy heart for you. All I can suggest is to slow down and breathe, collect your thoughts and get organized even to the point of using a lined pad to itemize WHERE you have looked.
Identify each room of the house and go through itclockwise, purses, pockets, diaper bag, file folders, brief cases, laptop case, behind-under-in furniture...check off on the list. Outside the house. What offices might you have taken the passport to? Car, work, bank (safety deposit box, manager's office), lawyer, friends, etc and go through each of those places the same way you did the rooms of the house. Do you have a special place you keep your own passports? Was there a time when you had to remove your baby's from that location, say to fill out information for VO or medical? Could it have been left where you DID the medical?
It will be found. All the best.

Hi Shalom,

I'm sure the passport will turn up. Please try to retrace your steps from the last time you remember seeing the passport. Also, if you keep the passport in a drawer, it could have fallen behind so maybe you could pull out the whole thing and take a look. Try a few good places and if it doesn't turn up then think solidly about it for a minute, no more than a minute, then get out a deck of playing cards and start playing solitaire. I know this sounds crazy, but it always works for me. The last place you kept the passport will just pop back into your mind! It's like bypassing the main road in the brain and taking a short cut. I really hope this helps you too! I'll pray tonight that you find it!!!!

I think the fastest you can do in Nigeria (For visa) is about 3 weeks.

Take your time with the search at home, I'm sure you'll find it.

All the best.
