Hello friends,
Some good news from my side. Its not PPR yet but a decision has been made on my application. :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I just got this email from London VO:

Dear Sir,
E0XXXXXXX
This is regarding your application for permanent residence in Canada.

Please be advised that a positive decision has been made on the above file. However, we have noted that your family has another file BXXXX in Accra, Ghana. In order for us to finalise this application, your family must withdraw the file submitted in Accra as soon as possible. Please note that you will have to inform our offfice in Accra regarding the withdrawal. We will not be able to withdraw the file from our office in London. Kindly send us a confirmation when you have initiated the withdrawal with our Accra office.
We look forward to hear from you soon.

I have sent an email and CSE to Accra VO few minutes ago.
Question: Do I need to wait for a reply from Accra or forward a copy of the email to London VO as a proof that I have asked Accra to withdraw our 1st application?

Many thanks.
Shalom

My brother congratulations o. You should have your ppr within days once you confirm to them that you've withdrawn the Accra application.

Cheers,
Bman

Hi Queencougar ,
so glad to see you back ;)!!! As Kolhapuri already mentioned we got Meds, PCC update and RPRF request, but unfortunately they messed up our kids pictures, and gave us only 60 days for completion of everything. As usual after e-mails and faxes with “URGENT ATTENTION” mark , we have not heard anything from them. So difficult to deal with these people!!! >:( I just hope they’ll send us new forms for kids.

We got appointment for Meds this Saturday.

Quick question to Shalom :

I remember your wife, when she was pregnant, she still has to do Xray,
can you please tell me more details about this, was it safe? Did she have some sort of protection for the baby? I am also 6.5 months pregnant now, and very nervous about Xray process.
And our huge congratulations with a wonderful news!!! :-*

Thanks very much :)

I'll discourage you from doing medicals in a country if that is not where you made your application. Note that they will certainly receive your medical results irrespective of the country you do your medicals but if you try doing your medicals outside the country you made your application, that will give rise to one unnecessarily long delay. My brother got his medical request 3 months before I got mine but he did his medicals overseas. I already have my ppr today but he's not had his yet.

Guys,
I want your opinion on this: I e-mailed VO to enquire if one can do medicals in another country (as I will be going away for 6 weeks) other than the one stated on the application and also when I am likely to get medical request?

I had this e-mail response:

"Hello,

Please be informed that your file is still in queue for review and medical exams have not been requested as at now.
In case the medical instructions are issued any time soon, you may do the test with any of our accredited doctors in any country. Only note that you'll have go back to the same doctor if your mdeicals are furthered".

My questions is:
1. When additional docs are requested and VO gives 60 days, does it mean that it is only after 60 days that they will open your file again?
2. Is the BFD the 60 days given?
3. Am I right in thinking that after 24 Oct (60 days from date additional docs sent to VO), I am likely to get medical request?
Thanks...Mandie

Shalom , how long did you wait for LVO reply to your fax regarding your wife being pregnant and mistake they made in spelling kids name?

And finally did you wait till delivery or did you do Meds before?

Tks

IRG,
Congrats for the new born on the way.
My wife did not do X-ray when she was pregnant. We waited till after the pregnancy although 3 different hospitals (X-ray departments) told us that it was safe to do X-ray with 7 months pregnancy.
Please seek professional advice if you wish to go ahead with the X-ray.
Also ask the radiographer in the hospital for the X-ray. They may have protective coverings for you.
As I said before, seek the advice of experts.

Best wishes.

Thank you Shalom so much, so as I understand LVO gave you extra time for meds? But you still had to submit PCC within 60 days, correct?

Can you please tell me what additional Forms they sent you for the baby?

I think we should do the same, notify them about our situation and they might extend our Meds date as well ::).

Phew !!! just got e-mail from LVO :

Dear Sir/Madam,
We apologise for the inconvenience.
Please return the medical papers, alongside new photos.
We will issue new medical papers as soon as possible.

Will send them a letter from my GP confirming pregnancy,
and definitely will cancel Meds appointment for this Saturday
to keep same visa expiry date for all of us!! Thank you Shalom ;) :-*

London VO advised us to postpone our medical till the baby is born so that the whole family can do medical same day but we chose to do the medical instantly without wife's X-ray (May 7th). My wife and the baby completed the medical on August 15.

For the baby, they requested for updated generic application form for PA, updated family detail forms for both PA & spouse, baby's passport photocopy, baby's birth certificate photocopy and $150 processing fee for the baby.
Hope this helps.
Please do not hesitate to ask me any question at any time.
The wait could be frustrating because of pregnancy but the joy of a baby is more than anything else in the world.
Imagine, my baby is already 3.5 months old and lovely as well. How time flies!
My regards to your family.

Shalom
