rfpa - 4151 - visa office Paris - row 257 in the google docs sheet.

"We are ready to issue your visas". "Your visas will expire on 2012-July-X". :)

The marathon is almost over! :)

Now, I have an issue with the date that was set as the limit. I need some help here.

Do you guys think that it's possible to enter Canada before X and then get back to Portugal in, say, 2 months, and then go back to Canada? Do you think that this will pose any kind of problem to immigration? The issue is that I will need to present my Master's dissertation in September 2012.

Thanks! :)
CONGRATULATIONS MY DEAR FRIEND.....

To all friends who are impatiently waiting to hear from their VOs... Here is something to think about:

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered...

"Man.
Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.
And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;
the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;
he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Hope we can all find a way to enjoy our everyday while waiting for the future...
Cam

Absolutely true.....

Cannot repeat my karma now because of a recent one, will come back and give you a +1 soon.

Congratulations RFPA! And yes, you can land in Canada and then return to Portugal. To re-enter at a later date you will either need someone to send you your PR card or you will need to arrange for a travel document from your VO. All the best!!!

Thank you wenstumped! :) Can you explain this further? What do you mean by PR card? I'm lost...

I hope Wendy will not mind me answering rfpa :)

PR card (Permanent Residency) is the final document issued by CIC which represents the fact that you are now a PERMANENT RESIDENT of Canada. When you complete your landing formalities at port of entry (Canada) you will be asked for a Canadian address where these PR cards would be mailed to. The delivery times of these cards vary between 3weeks -2 months. A permanent resident should carry this card all the time that he travels. And in situations where you can not have the cards then you have to get travel documents from your VO, as suggested by Wendy.

Mitali

@Wendy --I just thought the rfpa would be worried and thus answered his question that was for you...

Oh, ok! That doesn't sound too complicated. :) I really need to get back to present my dissertation in September. It would be a huge waste of money and effort if I would to give up now...in every sense.

I was expecting other date for my visa's expiry date.

Thank you very much, Mitali. :)

Hi

I hope you know that you have time until the expiry of your Med result to enter Canada. IMO you can safely attend your dissertation and then enter Canada.

Mitali

First of all: congratulations!!! Finally Paris is on the move again!
With regard to your issue below: that will be no problem at all, as long as you fulfill requirements for staying a permanent resident e.g. reside in Canada two years in a five year period:
