I think the world has lost one of the century's masterminds. RIP Steve Jobs. You will be dearly missed not only by your fans but by your competitors who will need to find new standard to compete.

I know the feeling...
We've sold our house 5 months ago and also renting a place but I'm glad it's a nice place...
No kids to worry about, but this all isn't going as planned!
I think it's a waist of money to rent because this money could also be spend in Canada!
But reading Buffalo isn't working at all, I have no right to complain.....or just a little bit... ::)
Hang in there, hopefully you'll get some good news soon!

Kind regards,
Louise!

Thank you for your kind words Louise, hope we all find ourselves safe and sound in Canada next year.... :)

@ Wayne, way to go with the job offer, very happy for you! ;D

@ Sonir, CONGRATULATIONS! :D

Bman,
Congrats mate. This is great news. October is good indeed.
Start packing your bags.
One question please: When did your medical reached London VO?
Best wishes.

Same problem here!
I know for sure the medical results arrived on august 17th, but no change on ECAS...
And reading about the troubles of medicals results disappearing at London VO I'm getting a bit nervous!

Kind regards,
Louise!

Some positive news about our medical.
I got an email from London VO today:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please be advised that we have found the xray for your spouse. We will contact you once the medical section has recorded the results in our system.

I emailed them yesterday expressing my frustration about the loss of documents within their office.
Thank you all for your concern and encouragement.

Wonderful! PPR on the way.....Mandie

dear friend
i filed my application for NOC 3113 (dentist) was recieved by CIC on August 25, 2011. despite all the care and effort i put in completing my application i feel that i have made a few mistakes such as:

1. didnt provide information for a few months in between school and college admission in my personal history.
2. forgot to write 'to date' in the current job period of my spouse
3. provided all the detail of proof of my relation in Canada but didnt mention that he is my maternal uncle.
4. though my job experience is of 4 years and 9 months full time but the working hours every week has been 36. while CIC says that they consider a full working week of atleast 37.5 hours.

i am afraid that my application might be returned on one of the following missing information.
now the question is that i have another set of application ready for sending. but i fear that if i wait to long for AOR or even worse NER the Cap for 3113 will be filled which is currently at 146. i want to know that should i send the new application or should i keep on waiting for AOR or NER. as u r a senior memeber i am really looking for ur advise in this matter. Regards. Ovais

Congrats Sonir,

Now prepare yourself for Medicals & next steps.

Mayank

Well in this instance I was over for 2 weeks, and Queencougar mentioned her husband worked for a software development company (although he's in the QA side of things). He passed on my CV to the development manager, who arranged a telephone interview. From there I was able arrange a face to face interview + developer exam for the 2 weeks I was over there, and then I found out yesterday I've been offered the job.

But basically I didn't really want to work in downtown Vancouver, where 80% of the development jobs in the area are, so it was then a question of trying to find jobs which were more out of town. The trouble with working in downtown Vancouver is that it's either expensive rent, or a long commute. I didn't fancy either of those!

Anyway we're renting on the edge of Abbotsford (although it's actually closer to Aldergrove than Abbotsford) and the job is in Langley which is about 10 miles/ 15 to 20 minutes drive.

I think job banks and cv sites like monster.ca can be good, especially for IT and software development, but word-of-mouth and referrals will always give you the edge.

Well am glad it is all sorted now, despite the frustrating delay!

The DMP lost my blood sample and had to go chasing round the country trying to find it! Then the post office lost our RPRF/PCCs and we found out that it had never left the post office - it had fallen down the back of the postal sack (even though it was special delivery).

So I know all about frustrating delays like this - but it will be worth it in the end! :)

Great news shalom. Nice to see that the progress is back on track, but shouldn't they have double checked before putting you through the unnecessary physical and emotional stress of running around to re arrange for another x-ray? My confidence in London Vo just went down another notch ::)

Hopefully your PPR should be on its way in a few days.
