i also sent my pcc together with my full application to CIO.should they ask for another,it would not be too hard to get a copy.. :D

Just to recommend something useful... :D

Since we are sending bulk of documents, it is advisable to make it easy for the evaluator to assess our papers, so we should make our file as what we call in computers, "user friendly". When I submitted my application I have included a cover paper for each group of documents for the visa office requirements, I have printed in large letters in each short bond paper the following:

Identity and civil status Documents (my name and my husband's)

education qualifications (my name and my husband's)

Work Experience (my name only)

passports (my name and my husband's)

proof of english language proficiency (attached in CIO checklist)

settlement funds

business documents (name of business)

photos (my name and my husband's)

police clearance/certificates (this is an application after june 26, hence no clearance is attached)

In addition, I have highlighted some phrases in the checklist, like in my case, the notarized photocopy of transcript is only required, so I used green stabillo marker to emphasize it. I have also highlighted the phrase "applying after June 26" in the portion of the police clearance since i didn't include it. Lastly, I put some notes in the visa office checklist, like in the payment portion, aside from putting a check, I have written "payment through credit card, the form is attached in cio checklist". In police clearance, i put n/a then i wrote "not yet required"; and on front of checklist, i noted "forms are attached in cio checklist.. then the rest that didn't apply to my application and without a check, i wrote "n/a"

In filling up the forms, everything was handwritten. My application also comes with a flaw, ??? that is I wasn't able to put a number of persons in the payment fee form at how many family members aged more than 22 years old, however I have written the correct amount. In addition, I have converted my settlement fund with the conversion rate different from what I have indicated in the net worth statement. :-[ Inspite of these, CIO have accepted my file. These are just minor errors that they consider as long as your application is complete. And as long as there are no certain rules regarding it. 8)

So, my advice is to read the guide twice or thrice and you wouldn't be lost. And before you submit your application, check it five times, there's no wrong being OC this time. :) goodluck to everyone :) :-* ;D

Hope this message will assist those who are still completing and preparing their documents. ;)

Hello Everyone

Can somebody advice me regarding proof of funds.

Does it make any difference if I have a bank account opened just 2 months back in the joint name of myself and my wife. Although we have salary account for both of us but we do not want to keep good amount of money in salary account in a single name.

Does Visa office have any problem with recently opened accounts?
Pls help
Sachin

Dear physiocraze ,

Your case is also a very confusing one like few of us.
But ur case becomes even more tough as u sent a BD made 2-3 months earlier, & validity is so close. Hope they charge it soon, so ur relieved.
I think, 2 CCs is not a good option. A BD is anyday always better & safer than that.

Good Luck!!

Noolan, physiocraze, Inexperienced, myself, apsa4ever, Dr.Alex, jeonash, meialua, and many others who applications reached very much on time are yet to see their processing fees being charged at CIO.

Among New Delhi VO applicants
Harjot (3113, BD),
POSITIVE (3112, BD),
Dr.Ex (3112, CC) and
Jignesh (3113, CC) are the ones, whose payments are encashed till now

You can also see from above that only 2 NOCs (3112 & 3113) have been entertained for N.Delhi applicants till now.

I do not know if my BD is encashed or not, but I am worried looking at the trend above. Also because the CC of Inexperienced is also not even attempted to be encashed till now!!

Regarding POF, my wife and I submitted Fixed deposit certificates, and savings account statements in our joint name, only difference here is that, the accounts are more than 3 months old. However, money held in your account for 2 months is a fairly strong proof of ownership. I have a strong feeeling that your application will be assessed 'as is'. You are actually required to show at the point of entry into Canada, the sufficient funds as stated in your application. You do not have to worry about this. Goodluck!.

Hmm was your banker's draft only valid for 3 months? My bank told me ours was valid for 6 months.

If it expires on October 6th and it hasn't been cashed yet you probably should try to contact CIC since you have a genuine reason (i.e. more than just impatience ;))

If you look here there are some contact details:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/index.asp

Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100

* Automated telephone service (available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week)
If you have a touch-tone telephone, you can listen to prerecorded information about CIC programs, order application kits, and check the status of your application.
* Call Centre agents - Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., your local time, except for statutory holidays.
You must choose one of the first five recorded options before you can speak to an agent.

Note that agents cannot:
o answer questions about application status once it is sent to a Canadian visa office outside Canada,
o make decisions on applications, or
o help process applications more quickly.

Good luck!

I know it must be frustrating for those applicants whose application reached CIC in July and have not been charged yet, especially when applications are getting there in September and ARE being charged. I have been trying to rack my brains to spot some kind of pattern, but all I can think of is that those earlier applications not charged require more thorough checking.

I don't think it is due to the visa office requested, since for example Apsa4ever is the same noc AND visa office as me (3131, London) and his banker's draft is not charged after 62 days (at least he has not reported here that it has been) yet mine was charged after only 16 days.

The only encouragement I can offer is that those who have been rejected so far at CIC stage have been informed within 2 to 3 weeks. So it may not mean your application is rejected, merely that they have to do more thorough checks on it.

Hi - I updated the details. However I notice that it says application received 20 September 2010. Today is 19 September 2010!! Is this just an expected date?

Thanks, well that is the only logical reasoning even I can think of.
Thanks again!!
