Hi Indra

I may not be able to reply this, but what im sure is that u can use 2 NOC's experience to get working experience points, but again if he not worked as architect they how u r applying for this NOc.

Pls check if Hospitality post for which prab is appyling is included in 29, what I know is that ur two NOc should be co related. hope u both will take care before applying without leaving any chances for VO.

HOpe other forum members can reply u perfectly, that's the reason i was waiting but so far no one has turned up.

Best of luck
Cheers

FMA

Well, thanks FMA, but i guess i should have conveyed this a bit clerer :).

From 2005 to present, Prab is working as an Architect in India and that's the perfect match for 2151 NOC. So, he has not less than 5 years of exp in the required NOC and also a 5 years BArch degree for the same NOC. Though he got a job in the hospitality sector and we managed to process the work permit, he did not perform the job as we dint return to UK after Visa stamping. SO, there is no work experience claimed in any other NOC except the 2151(Architects):)

All i wanted to check is will the VO will be concerned abt the masters degree which is not related to Architecture. Anyway, with the above, we qualify for the actual process of application with maximum points for work experience.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hello Nitroxn,

Great to see another architect applying from India. At last i find another 2151 in the list :) Pls could you confirm what documents you have sent to the CIO? Also share your checklist of documents that you gathered? Have you sent the PCC as well? Where do you live in India and which college did u graduate from?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

People, your views please..

1. Prab has his Bachelors in Architecture and the next degree is PG Diploma in Hospitality Management and the next one is MS in Hospitality Management. The reason for this change was, He intended to do an MBA course in UK first only to find out getting an Architect License in UK to practice was next to impossible, and so he switched his focus to Hospitality Management. We even managed to get a work permit processed in UK for 5 years with that Masters degree. Would this focus shift from Architecture to Hospitality cause a concern for the VO?

2. Next as i mentioned earlier, we were able to secure a 5 yrs work Visa in UK and we had to come back to India to get the resident visa stamped. [Note: Work permit and resident permit are 2 different things for Home office in UK]. Unfortunately we were not able to return to UK to take up the job immediately after the Visa stamping due to personal reasons. When we contacted the employer again in 1.5 months time, they said they will not be able to hold the job for him for many months(which was reasonable as we got the offer in end of March and it took about 3.5 months to process the work permit and get the visa stamped). Long story short, we did not get the 5 year work visa activated at all and it expired last month Sad. Would this cause a concern for the VO? I mean if we did get an opportunity to work for 5 yrs in a country like UK, and did not use it, would the VO be reluctant/ give it a second thought to give us the PR status for Canada?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Based on CIC’s website they are currently processing applications received up to 27th May 2010; and according to the May Applicant’s thread, CIC has already deducted the processing fee of those received up to around 13th May 2010, and AOR issued for a case received on 3rd May 2010.

To make sense of the above, I suppose it means CIC has started the 1st of the 2 stage initial screening for applications up to 27th May 2010, have completed the 1st stage for those received around 13th May 2010, and completed 2nd stage for those received around 3rd May 2010.

Makes sense?

Don't recall seeing anything in CIC's instructions that graduate or post graduate studies have to follow the major taken for under-graduate studies to qualify for added points. So my guess is that they cannot fault you for that.

Hi,
Many thanks for the opportunity to ask for a few clarifications on my recent application.I am a medical doctor and I sent an application from Nigeria April 2009 for permanent residence in Canada-Federal Skilled Worker.I only received a correspondence on that application(through the Canadian High commission Accra) early 2010 stating that my file has been closed because no supporting documents were received after 120 days.Worthy to state that there was no prior notification through emails or postal system asking me to send required forms and supporting documents. The correspondence also states that a cheque for a refund of my application fees will be sent within 8 to 12 weeks.I am yet to receive the cheque 20 weeks after their correspondence and my new application for the Federal Skilled Worker(sent April,2010) has not been attended to.I do hope my file will not be closed again without asking me to send supporting documents.Again how do I get a refund of my previous application fees. Thanks

3. When providing personal history on the schedule 1 form, how exact do we have to provide the timeliness? I mean if Prab was a Student in UK for 5 years, he attended 3 courses and completed 2 of them. He took breaks in between the courses(between course 1 and 2 and course 2 and 3), like Vacation to Germany and India. Should i just mention 1 line from 2000 to 2005 his activity was Student and finish it or give a detailed breakup of actual attendance in colleges, vacations, etc..

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

sent my application today via UPS, noc 3152

Thanks temasek for the update..The way i understand it, this only applies to applications sent/filed before june 26, 2010. I suppose they have a different process and timeline for those who applied under the new rule. :)
