Hello Wayne,
My documents have been got by CIC on 8th Nov. .....someone in my country told me I would get my visa in 2 years after getting aor :o.....how it could be possible ...I thought this aor that ppl are getting these days is the same as the second AOR in last years ....I am just confused and it is important for me to have a roughly date for getting visa ....do u think after we get aor visa office needs 2 years to issue visa??

Hi. Nobody knows for sure the timescales of post-June-26 applications after getting AOR, since the process is different.

However, you are correct that the AOR we get now is further down the process than the initial AOR the pre-June-26 applicants got, because our final eligibility has already been determined.

My guess (and it's only a guess) is that visas will take 4 to 8 months after getting AOR depending on your visa office. They certainly won't take 2 years, but I guess seeing is believing.

Wayne.

Dear 2future,
One PCC per country ( where you lived more than 6 months period.)
No need for separate PCC for different cities of same country.
If you still have query please feel free to ask.

Thank you soooo much Zahid, actually I read on another thread that a separate pcc is required for every city one has lived in.My husband is an ex Army officer, hence, we have lived in a number of cities! That was the confusion.plus my application has already been returned once :( so I am anxious. Thanks again for your input.I'll definitely bother you again if another confusion arises. ;D

Thank you Wayne, I know we just should wait ....Anyway I wish all August and September and October :) applicants could get their aor soon ...I am behind all of them .....

I disagree with this , CIC agents are specially posted just to answer applicants queires, it is in no way going to speedsup or slows down the processing time, more over the apllication rejected is taking approximately 3 months to be recieved back, we have people in this forum who were shocked to see there application returned after 3 months and there cap being filled by that time. Specially in India it is hard to know whether you BD has been encashed...

So if any applicants feel they should contact CIC they should happily do it, email would be the preffered way to get the INFO, if nothing works then we can call up the CIC office but should not pester them with repeated calls...

Once the flood of PER has arrived and every one have the share of PER then I believe we all can discuss about leading a good life in Canada by God's grace.

You might have allready observed by now how vibrant this thread is and there is no dearth of ideas...

Regards
Bindu

Bindu,
I actually read it somewhere in their(cic) website where they said calling might slow down the processing of your application, however,i believe their own way of keeping quiet about people's application is not really commendable.

A big congratulations to all who have received their AORs. For the rest, I am sure it will be a matter of time before you get yours too. As for myself, I received mine on the 29th.. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Yahooooooooo!

Smiler11 - my deepest condolences on the passing of your dad.

And now back to bed.....!

Cheers

Unsure how the different countries work, but in the UK you have to give every address you have lived at for the past 5 years (so they can check out any arrests/cautions/convictions under each address). But only one PCC itself is needed for any one country.

I think the people answering the phones have very little knowledge what's going on with your application other than the day it was received and the day they cashed your money. All they do is add 33 weeks onto your received date. I still think it's possible that it's just a third party call centre with minimal access to CIC system who are just told to say 33 weeks.

I am 99% certain that calling CIC will make no difference to the processing speed of anyone's application because the visa officers completing the eligibility reviews are completely removed from the call process.

Let’s get brainstorming! Current applicants towards CAP are 8394 and on 19 Oct, the total was 2226.
Let say CIC has completed the PER on applicants received until 16 Aug, assumed that the applicants in the tracker represents as a sample group for the overall population ( current appl: towards CAP),just for Non- probability sampling. In the tracker, 43 applicants reached CIC on 16 Aug, amongst them, 17 received AOR, if so we assumed CIC had accomplished PER on total 2226 which were counted towards CAP on 19 Oct, currently CIC might have sent out AOR to 880 applicants already. If we assumed the first day of AOR sending was 22nd Nov (Monday) , till to date , there would be 10 days exclusively weekends. So 88 applicants would have presumably received AOR per day.If there are 18 working days before X’mas, might be about 1584 applicants would received AOR bfore X’mas, if we put margin error +/- 5%, it could be 1592 or 1576 . If so current applicants received are 8394 -2226(assumed 880 appl: received AOR ) = 6168 applicants would still remain to be done PER by CIC . Among them, 1592-1576 appl: could have received AOR bfore X’mas. in the tracker, the remaining appls are about 147.

so if I draw conclusion, in this tracker, between 30-40 appl: might have received AOR bfore X’mas. Just IMO as don’t have enough data and this calculation just depended on nearest assumption :)

if my guesswork get wrong later, don't blame me ,OK? :) I said "ASSUMPTION"

Hi Kathe, you lost me at 8394 ::) Where does that number come from? I thought:
Applications received toward the overall cap: 4,416 of 20,000 as of November 29, 2010
Where am I going wrong?
Thanks,
Cam

8396 is the number currently projected on my projections sheet on the post-June-26 Google spreadsheet.
https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0AiJy8Qu8lcQbdGxiSnNhME5sVi1uRlZtUWNhOEFwemc&hl=ar&authkey=CLDXsFA#gid=6
Maybe that's the number Kathe is talking about?

This number is based on how many apps from each NOC have been received so far, and then working out the applications per day, and projecting the same number of applications per day for the rest of the year. Stopping of course once a NOC hits 1000.

yay, i just mailed my application today! now,i'll be playing the waiting game for PER! goodluck everyone!
