I got an email from Buffalo today about my change of address/application status inquiry

address disappeared from ecas Dec 18
Buffalo replies Jan 4

I'm trying to figure out if my address disappeared from ecas because of the email or something else?
I don't think my time has come!! I am April 2011 applicant and it seems that Buffalo is now processing Nov/Dec 2010 applicants! and I'm still RBVO
I'm just asking because I have my fingerprint cards and I was wondering if I should send them to FBI or wait a couple more months !!?

I think in your case your case address disappearance is likely related to address change. I submitted FBI almost a year ago and now I would likely have to resubmit. In my opinion, I would wait to see how Buffalo works the next few months before deciding to request them and avoid them possibility of the expiring

That's what I thought at the beginning ! This means that the person who got the email had to forward it to an immigration officer, then the officer changed the address and I got a reply back today!
But the address disappeared 5 days after the email, if they removed my old address then because of my message, why would they wait 17 more days to tell me so? Maybe each time they access a file, the address disappears ! We have to wait and see if a new address will appear or if it remains blank until my turn comes!?
This is so random !!

Yes it is random. For example I have worked with other countries federal government computer systems and until you hit the export function of the program data is not updated and reports (email in this case) are not sent. The system CIC uses might be similar. However this is just my assumption on the reasoning why we see so many address disappearance and people going simultaneously in process etc. It also makes sense with the note that CIC has that ecas is updated on Tuesday (something we know its not necessarily true)

hello Buffalo friends,
my address also disappeared since Friday.
I had these situations for 3-4 times before too.But,that tym the address was disappeared for only 1 day.
This tym its more than 4 days.wishing to get some updates regarding my file...

Hey Mowsow,
I guess the address dissappearance in ur case is just like mine,i.e. because of the address change.Mine actually took them 1 whole month to update the ECAS with the new mailing address.My address was gone for 1 month and after that it re-appeared with my new mailing address..

Please don't get me wrong guys but from experience, the address disappearing / reappearing or status changing are rarely pre cursors for anything.

I know as an applicant (and I was one too not too long ago), this is the only connect with the CIC and hence the obssession over the E Cas status. But, and I wish there was an easier way to put this, almost all updates on Ecas are illogical.
