Spot on @ Advance123, especially about the UK. There is always the perception that migrants( mostly Asian and African) take British jobs. This make me cringe! Dig deep and you will understand it all has to do with work ethics.
One advice though is to conscientize ourselves that ourselves that racism is rife everywhere, but shouldn't use that as an excuse in our quest to advance wherever we are.....Mandie

Dear ss1886 we are talking about high skilled migration here. Abiding or not abiding law is personal choice. White or black has got nothing to do with law.

You are right but any one who follows the law more would be given preference over even highly skilled professionals and in general blacks, browns, yellow etc tend to be a little behind the whites in that respect, for sure.

When you are constantly made to feel inferior, when you are targeted for arrests by the police, when the prisons are filled with people from your race, when your race has the highest level of employment, why will you want to obey any laws.

Have you taken time to see what is being said about Obama by a section of US society?

Are you a non white? If you are, you can try living outside the big cities in the US or Canada then you will understand what it is to face prejudice.

Even though the last riots in London were blamed on black youths, the fact that majority of the people that rioted in cities like Manchester were white is not being so publicized.

When opportunity is taken away from you, it doesn't matter what colour you are, you will not be very civil.

The holocaust, genocide in Serbia and all the world wars were not instigated by unruly blacks. The frequent riots in Canadian cities is mainly by whites. The anarchists are whites.

No race has the sole possession of civility. Every race can be as unruly, violent and criminal as the other.

I don't mean that all non-whites are non law abiding or whites in any way are superior , just that it is my own observation during my stay in the US last year that whites in general are more law abiding then non-whites, therefore they are bound to get preference. Preference does not guarantee Canadian immigration for whites. I am not being bias at all and I am a non white myself.

It is unfortunate that when you were in the USA you did not see a single civil minority.

I've been to the USA many times and I beg to differ. Go spend some time in midwest America then come and tell me about civil whites.

On the other hand, highly educated people from the developing world don't get value for their education so they are forced to migrate.

It's just the ugly way the world spins.

Well you are right in your way, but speaking of the region I come from that is India, Pakistan and Bangladesh here people even fight and kill each other for ethnic, sectarian reasons. The Illiterates and the less literates just concentrate on ethnicity and look down upon others.
I stayed in Washington DC for most of my time and visited New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlantic City, Maryland, Virginia, Boston and I found that areas where the whites live have less crime rate compared to non-white areas and I found whites to be more courteous.

Many people who are still expecting some form of response may have to wait till next year before they get their visas.

Once this years quota is filled up, that it is. This is why it seems people applying from New Delhi, Manilla etc seem to be getting more visas from say people from the UK.

The temporary residents, converting to permanent, are considered to be coming from Britain hence the reduction in visas from London and also the delay for Buffalo applicants due to more applicants.

The only odd case is Accra. Well, not too odd though. They really don't want blacks.

The problem here is not the average Canadian, but the conservative government and those fringe Canadians, generally of British ancestry, who will do anything to keep Canada under Britain.

The equivalent is Britain opening its doors to immigrants from the EU but not immigrants from the rest of the world.

Most Europeans are white, while most Non Europeans are not.

What the hell are you talking about? Come to Toronto (the city with most immigrants) and you'll see how diverse the city is. Almost 40% of people are South Asians, Chinese, Black, Filipino or Latin Americans.

Did you take time to find out what those whites did for a living? Among those whites, did you see any minorities living there? I'm sure the answer to that is yes so I ask, were they unruly?

I live in London and the only race you see spilling out of bars on Friday nights are the whites yet the jails are not filled them.

If the wild drinkers were minorities I'm sure the government will be investing in new jails.

I've been to some of those cities you mentioned and I have stayed with friends and family in those "white" communities and I can assure you there was low crime notwithstanding.

Crime is a factor of affluence. I mentioned the midwest of america or south of the USA were there are poor whites. Do go spend some time there and maybe you will discover how criminal whites can be.

I'm not self-deprecating and I don't look at any race with special admiration. I see all as equal and I see all as lacking. The main issue is that of opportunities.

Where there is little opportunities there will be crime.

In London, I live in a community of mainly Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Poles and blacks and I can assure you that the crime rate is low.

Most people around me are middle class hence the low crime rate.

Really the US affords maximum opportunities to minorities? Have you looked at their immigration system? No sponsor = No residency or way to miggrate! Either a job lands you here in the US and you suck up years tied to the same job so they sponsor you or a family member sponsors you. Both ways take years. Not to mention that the US is years behind on equal rights in comparison to Canada and same sex marriage.

I've been to Toronto.

Since the Conservatives won a majority, there is a new focus on limiting the number of minorities that come in. Just because their are loads of minorities in Toronto doesn't mean they are well accepted.

Family immigration is being attacked because it brings a lot of minorities like you have stated.
