Hi,

I have PGWP and I finally sent off my CEC application to CIO yesterday. There are two things that concern me very much right now. If there's anyone out there who have similar experiences, please help.

1) I entered an incorrect NOC in the application. I work in a HR management consulting firm. The correct NOC therefore should have been 1122 (professional occupations in business management consulting) but I entered 1121 (Human Resources Professionals). Both jobs are listed under skill level A. Can this mistake lead to a rejection of my application?

2) I did not file my taxes last year so I did not have a copy of NOA to include in the application. I have T4 copy, so that's in the application. Nonetheless, I wrote a letter explaining why NOA is missing and further provided copies of my pay stubs from 12/30/2010, showing the accumulated income earned and taxes paid. I also said that I will submit the NOA once it becomes available to me via my application account.

I'm not sure if I explained my situation well enough. But please help if someone knows what I should expect. Thank you so much! Good luck y'all :)

hi

it could lead to refusal if your job description/duties didnt match with the NOC code that u provided or the salary.wait for senior members for more advise. goodluck.

May I ask how many years of work experience did you have when applied?

Regarding the wrong NOC code: Yes, a wrong NOC code will lead to rejection.

Here is what I think you should do ....

If you have the AOR, you should have your file number; send CIC a letter clearly mentioning :
1) the new NOC code.
2) get a new reference letter from your employer... include everything from the CIC checklist. Because in the checklist they clearly mention what points should be covered in the Reference letter.
3) Include a detailed cover letter stating how you ERRONEOUSLY entered the wrong NOC code.

If you don't have the AOR (and a file number)... wait for it and do whats listed above.

Regarding NOA: (Who doesn't file their taxes? There is a red flag right there! :( )

You can file last years and this years taxes all at the same time this year... make sure you do that. And include the NOA when you receive it. If you file it early you will probably receive your NOA by April. In the mean time, inform CIC that the NOA will arrive shortly as you didn't file your taxes last year. (I think it's better to come clean than to hide it. Because they can pull up ALL your data with your SIN... no point in hiding)

This is going to be blunt... but please bare with me.. because you missed these docs, you can expect your processing to be delayed. But I would suggest you inform them ASAP.

Hope this helps.

How did you sent your application ? is it via Canada Post, Fedex.. etc..
Check if they can hold your mail
