For FSW1, on an average - at least a span of 12 months before an applicant is provided with a PR by CIC. How far it could go beyond that is totally open to debate and varies on case by case basis.

Thank you.

So it means that if it takes more than 12 months, I have to keep the funds in the account for that much time as well....

And from which stage I have to keep the money? is it from submitting application?

Thanks,
Annie

You have to show the settlement funds in your account spread over a period time (say 3 months) when you file your application and anytime in the future if requested by the VO.

Example - if you file your application in August - the account should not have been credited with a bulk amount of 12000 CAD in July end or August. This could give the impression to the VO that the fund may have been borrowed.

Instead, it should be a sum of credits during the past 3 to 4 months which makes it look like 'savings' and not loan amount. This is a recommendation.

After you file your application you are free to use the funds as you wish. But if in March next year the VO requests for POF again - you should not be in a situation where you need to make large deposits to match the settlement fund in the same month itself.
