6. a) Put the applicant's current address.

If you are doing an inland application, ignore 6. b) and c).

6. b) If the address in a) is not in the applicant's country, then has the applicant been admitted to the country listed in a) for at least a year? This means that the applicant got a visa good for a year or more to enter the country where he/she is now living. The applicant does not have to have already lived in this country for a year.

If 'no', then the application will be processed in the country of citizenship of the applicant. In other words, if the applicant was not admitted to the country where he is now living for at least a year, then the application will be done in his country of citizenship. Skip c).

If 'yes', then answer 6. c).

6. c) Now you have a choice. If the applicant has been admitted for a period of at least a year to the country where he is now living, he can choose to have his application processed in either the country where he is now living, or in the country of his citizenship.

Example: Pierre is from France, but has been studying in Australia. He was admitted to Australia for a period of 2 years. He lives in Australia now. So for 6. a) he writes his current Australian address. He is doing an outland application. His address in Australia is not in France, the country of his citizenship, and he got a student visa good for two years, so he answers 'yes' to 6. b)
Now he decides. Does he want his application processed in France (the country of his citizenship), or in Australia (the country where he is now living)?

Thank you very much Canadianwoman for such a detailed answer. It was extremely helpful. We got ourselves confused with trying to understand how 6b and 6c should be read. I live in Australia where my nationality is and we wish to have the application processed in Sydney so after reading your post I assume I answer yes to 6b and yest to 6c. Much appreciated.

6 b) says "If the address in a) in not in the applicant's country, then ...."
You are Australian and live in Australia now, so put your Australian address in 6 a), then leave 6 b) and 6 c) blank - because your address is in your country.

However, if you have already filled in 'yes' for both 6 b) and c), and sent it in, don't worry - the visa officer will see you live in Australia and the application will be processed there.

oh...how stupid do i feel ! Of course..it's as plain as day now. Thank you! We are still completing the form so luckily can amend.
