Application Status - CHC Islamabad "Summer 2013"

Hey Guys,

I'm trying to get my wife's medical done but somehow we don't seem to connect through to IOM. When i call from Canada, the line is engaged. And when my wife dials it locally, it doesn't go through. Could someone please advice how you can contact them, or if there is any other number.

Also, could someone explain what the procedure is to get the medical done for spouse immigration. She can just take the filled forms to the IOM clinic and get her tests done? OR Do we need to make an appointment first? And if its done by appointment, after how long does your appointment come up? any idea?

I understand this is a thread for international student, so i apologize in advance for intruding with different queries. However, I seem to be stuck in a weird spot where I'm running out of time.

I would really appreciate it if someone could guide me through on this. Thanks

Well I'm not sure why you can't get through but as far as I know this is the only way to get an appointment. I'm not sure why your wife can't get through to them on the phone either. Well it was a pretty straight forward (but lengthy) process (at least for students), you get the appointment, and you just go there along with the documents they ask you to bring along. They do x-rays, eye check up, general physical check up, take a blood sample and urine test ( I think I have covered them all). So yeah shouldn't be a problem, just try to get through to them and get an appointment. If you can't get through by phone at all, try emailing them, but still I'm sure they'll only give you an appointment on the phone so best of luck with that.
Oh and yeah your appointment comes up within a week.

You need to take an appointment, and the only way is through calling them, just ask your wife to keep on calling them, she will get through, try calling between 8.30 am to 3.00pm.

Visa Applied: 23rd Feb '13
Call for Medical: 17th Mar '13
Medical Appointment: 19th Mar '13
Visa Received: 9th April '13 (Also received a confirmation email on the same day)

My brother sponsored me so I attached his bank statements and an affidavit.

My advice to all those who are being sponsored by someone other than themselves; Your sponsor should be convincing as to why he's sponsoring. For example, an elder brother can say that "apart from being his sponsor, I am also his educational and career advisor/mentor". This actually goes a long way in showing strong ties which eventually translates into an apparent stability in cash flow. Your cover letter/SOP should also reflect this type of relationship with sponsor.

You must also show a stable proof of income of your sponsor. Also, the affidavit should mention that your sponsor will cover tuition, living, travel and all other miscellaneous costs.

I m already very stressed because i am getting late in filing my visa for September intake 2013....... due of my bank statement problems....
