application sent! what next? :)

Hi guys,

so we sent out application to Mississauga (outland, Polish and Canadian) last friday, this tuesday we got the courier's delivery confirmation. Now, I know more or less what's going to happen now (like that we might get AOR as late as a month from now, that SA might or might not be sent etc). My question is: do I have to wait for AOR via email from IRCC to be able to connect the PR application to my CIC, or can I do it now?

I believe it works only for applications that have been transferred to local visa office which is equivalent to receiving sponsor approval.

It's possible to link before AOR, just don't be too disappointed if you can't. There are people whose applications went in around the same time as mine who are able to link without issue but I have not been able to using dozens of permutations and tricks posted in the linking thread.

Right now your application is sitting in a giant pile with no file number attached to it. You will not see anything until at least your application recieved aor

Yeah, that's for sure, i just wanted to know if it's possible to connect it to mycic at this stage, do that if there's anything it will come as a mesage to mycic. Aor is sent via email, either to pa or sponsor right?

This is the only option I have so far on mycic: 'Link application to this account' and it says 'Use this to retrieve your application if you recently reset your account after losing your GCKey or SecureKey Concierge username and password.'

So I don;t know if it's possible?

Also, I wonder if it would make more sense for me to set up a new account on mycic (I changed my name recently) and to link my old applications to the new account, including linking the PR application.. what do you think?

The aor will be sent to the sponsor and then after that to either the PA or your representative. You can try registering on ecas with your receipt number.

Nothing yet Ok, so basically this confirms that anything can be done only after aor (which i assume goes to the sponsor's email; we don't have a representative). And once we have the application number we can link this application to my mycic so that any correspondence they send will come, as opposed to either of our emails, to the mycic inbox. Correct?

In the meantime, ordering GMSC notes can also only happen after we received the application number (or aor), right? I suppose it wouldn't be very useful before that anyway.

GCMS Notes won't really be useful until you get SA. Really it's just them setting the case up in GCMS.
