Hi, I received an email this morning about my spouse sponsorship application. In the email they said my package was incomplete because I didn’t add certified photocopies of the translated birth certificate and marriage certificate. It says to resubmit the application by paper with the missing documents. They sent scanned copies of all the documents I already submitted and said I could print them out to resubmit.

My problem is I know that signatures must be within 90 days of their receipt. We signed everything on May 20th and submitted in beginning of June. I’m in Canada and my wife is in Sri Lanka so we signed everything when I visited her in May. I only got the rejection now on September 14th so now the signatures are past the 90 days. The documents they scanned and emailed back have a stamp saying the date they were received by the immigration office in June. I can’t talk to an agent because of the Afghan situation. I was wondering, will I have to sign everything again and send new forms or do the ones they sent back still count because the stamp of the office’s receipt date is there. Online it says I can print and send everything back but the forms must be up to date. Does that mean the signatures or the types of forms?

Can anyone provide any information about this type of thing?

Thanks

Hi There,

I am sorry this happened to you. Same thing happened to us in 2020. Our whole application package was sent back after 9 months just because we missed to tick point 5 on the checklist.
But then we redid everything from printing new forms and signing them again to getting new PCC and resubmitted our application.
Your wife can reprint the forms and sign them and courier to you in Canada and you can send it from there to IRCC.
Hope this helps.

Your wife do not have to resend signed forms by courier. My application was also returned to me due to one small error . I live in Canada and my partner live outside Canada ,but he did not send signed form via a courier . What we did was, I refilled the immigration form and correct the error ,then I send the from to my partner who is outside Canada via email and he received it , print it , then signed the form and then scanned it and send it back to me in Canada . I then printed the signed form from my partner and then resend the whole immigration package to Nova Scotia and now after two months my application in un process and they started processing it . I hope this help.
