Hi guys,

I got an email to say that my application was refused because of incomplete/missing ECA. However as I wrote exams here in Canada and submitted my certification of qualification obtained here in Canada I assumed i don't need an ECA. Am I wrong? If I submit a case inquiry and for some reason I get rejected again, do I forfeit the the chance to request a refund?

Has anyone on here sat exams in Canada and got certified in Canada submitted with success?

Cheers...

Is your academic degree - BA, MBA, MA, whatever - from a Canadian university, and did you get CRS points for your degree? That's the only case in which you do not have to submit an ECA.

Thanks for your response,

I am an electrician and I had to write exams, in which I got certified here in Canada, yes.

But i guess if your degree or diploma is not from canadian institute .. you need to get ECA done .. may b that is the reason

This is a common issue we don't count the red seal or trade cert from Canada 2 of myself done the exact same thing.. I am the same as you I did not count it

That is your certification, not your education. If you have a university degree, it has to be assessed. If you went to a technical school outside Canada, that also needs an assessment, and the same thing is true if you have a secondary school degree as your final degree.

The problem is the difference between certification, which you got in Canada, and education, which you may have gotten elsewhere. If you did, you need to have WES or another agency evaluate it. I assume you were invited under FST? Because if you were invited under CEC, perhaps you don't need the ECA and can write a CSE? Did you get points for your education? Did you have an LMIA?

Yes we don't count it as Canada education I was told as its a cert. what I ment to say is 2 of my mates got declined for doing the same thing.

One cannot write a trade exam without being assessed by the apprenticeship board first.

Does anyone know which body assesses trades?

Buddy the red seal can't be counted as Canadian education.. And we can't get trade cert regozibed I have seen your name on a different forum so I know your posts Your best bet is to get an Lmia.

Do you have your red seal?? Are you cec? Or fsw? What's your timeline?

You're saying an apprenticeship from overseas is not worth anything...

I have the red seal. I was invited under FSW. In order to write the exam I had to get credentials assessed from overseas.

CIC said I am missing an ECA.

Yes it's worth nothing for express entry

In my express entry profile I had submitted, I neither said that I got an ECA nor had I obtained a Canadian qualifcation for said entry.

Oh I don't know then I didn't mean to come across mean I am same as you and from same country been though the same shit.. We can't count our trade cert and red seal is not worth much. Get an Lmia if you can and do cec route don't do fsw do you have one year experience ?
