@aquareo

Got the below reply from CPP-O

Good Day,
Thank you for your email and for the information.
As they were not yet requested, receipt of your medicals will be confirmed in due course
Thank you for your patience.

Best regards,

Godzilla: hopefully they will add ME reports to your file soon. BTW what made you do medicals before hand?
Are you consulting any lawyer?
I know in the past some applicants had a faster processing with upfront ME but I would suggest you keep in touch with CIC so that they are linked with your file.

There was no specific reason for doing it. I just wanted to get over with it. Worst case, they would not be able to link my report to the file and I would loose some money.

No, I am not consulting any lawyer. They are too expensive.

Unlike paying RPRF fee in advance, I can easily see how doing upfront medical can save some processing times, provided, of course, they will also assess and pass your medical in advance as well. It usually takes maybe two weeks before doctor is ready to send your medical report to the CIC, another week before your medical report is received by CIC, then several more weeks before the results are accepted by immigration medical doctors.

The only drawbacks would be if your application is still in process more than a year after you've done your medicals, then I'm assuming that you would not be granted extension (since it is your decision to do upfront medical), and you would have to redo it.

According to OP25a:
8.2. Putting an application into process
After a positive completeness check at the CIO, the office staff will:
 date stamp the application;
 create a file in GCMS;
 enter “CEC” in the Category field;
 cost recover the processing fee and enter this in GCMS;
 write the GCMS file number on the paper file;
 send an acknowledgment of receipt letter to the applicant informing them that their file has been transferred to a visa office and placed into processing;
 transfer the paper file to a visa office, in line with existing file transfer policies (diplomatic bag may take a significant amount of time to reach many offices); and
 transfer the electronic file to a visa office in GCMS by making that office the primary office for processing.

One pattern for InProcess status applicants is that all NOC codes are different

Good observation Godzilla... aren't you a curious soul... :D
By any chance do we know:
1. reasons of rejection for chacks and misugreenmango, whymee case I have read.
2. did they also have "in process" status; and 3. rejection mails from CIO/CPC Sydney? Again whymee case I know but about the other two?

I suggest that a new thread be started to track this info since the intent of this thread was different..do you guys agree?

Hi guys,

Quick update on the application received vs in process debate. I had requested GCMS notes for my PGWP application because it had been issued to my passport expiry, and I wanted to check how long it could be extended for.

Long story short, at the bottom it showed "Work in Progress" and included all applications I had filed, including my CEC application. Here is the timeline for my CEC application from the notes:

Application Received: Feb 12, 2013
Application In Process: March 22, 2013
File Transferred: April 02, 2013

Now, as I've said previously, my ECAS status says Application Received. My only conclusion is that some VOs are changing the ecas to In Process, while others are not. I've also requested GCMS notes for the CEC application. That should tell me whether my eligibility was checked before it was sent to Ottawa, like some other applicants, or not.
