"Application Received" since last 18 Months

Hello All,

I am posting this because since last 18 months I am waiting everyday about some news from CEC. They did update one line in April 2014 saying We received your application on 4th April. And they did add one line Medicals have been received in July 2015.

I mean the status of my application is "Application Received" .. Not even in process. What does this means?? Do they really update ECAS ..?

What should I do in this condition..?

Apply for GCMS notes and physical file. It will tell you lot of things about your file.

Sorry but this is TERRIBLE advice. Do NOT ask for the physical file, only the electronic. If you ask for the physical file, it will be pulled out of processing to deliver it to you.

eCAS is notoriously unreliable, you should ask for your GCMS notes, but only the electronic notes.

Since you are way past the processing time, you would be well within your rights to go see your MP and see if they will make an inquiry on your behalf.

But unfortunately, depending on your background, country of citizenship and places you've lived, sometimes background checks take a really long time...
