Hi all, I spoke to quite a few people.

I sent my app off and it was signed for on the 19th. Immigration lawyers say it usually takes 4 weeks for it to appear in the system and its now just past the 5th week.

Is this normal?

I'm to travel to the US next month and I will be coming back over via private car without my PR card. Wondering if I can bring a photocopy of my COPR or something with me as evidence and if I will get into Canada again.

I came back recently after living abroad with my Canadian wife for ~6/7 years, and they granted me re-entry via PRTD (which will be in my passport).

50 days now. still no application appearing in their system :(
Don't worry, my wife's application was sent on June 5th and it reached them on 9th June. It showed up in the system only a week back.

It says on their site they take 63 days to process after receiving the application. They are working on apps received in June 1st.

How is it possible that they will process my application in 12 days? This is the worst experience. I have had to decline business trips because of this and it is jeopardizing my employment.

Getting my initial PR card was easy. Getting a passport in my home country is easy and absolutely transparent. This renewal is terrible. At least next time I will apply for citizenship and there will be no more hassle.

Thanks for the information. It seems that the information is incorrect on their site.

Maybe I'll see mine in the next two weeks but there's no way they're going to process and approve in in 12 days. This service is abysmal.

I think the 63 days is for perfect applications, no travel outside Canada plus have work or education history clearly for the 5 years.

sooooo funny..... just got the email that my application was received and is in the system!

But what drives me nuts is that I sent the same information for my PRTD, and that was approved and sent back to me within 2 weeks.

I don't understand why this takes longer. Especially since they have the same documents sent within 3 months.

application received june 20

today received email that application was received and ouch what a pain.. it went for secondary review and now they are asking numerous docs to prove residency.. I am thinking of giving up pr.

that sucks. the time waits are ridiculous. what bothers me more is that it says 63 to process after receiving a complete package. It is currently working on apps received on the 8th of June. Between 8th of June and now is now 69 days - https://www.timeanddate.com/date/durationresult.html?m1=06&d1=08&y1=2017&m2=8&d2=15&y2=2017&ti=on

Only workdays it is 47 days: https://www.timeanddate.com/date/workdays.html?y1=2017&m1=6&d1=8&y2=2017&m2=8&d2=15
