How did everyone organise their application? I've seen some posts stating they separated the pack into envelopes, others that just had everything loose but in order as seen in the checklist.

Should we paperclip the evidence and OWP application separate?

Since my partner, the sponsor, is studying we were going to provide our latest bank statements, her notice of assessment and a notarised letter from her father offering financial support with his pay slips and notice of assessment as well as a letter of intent outlining our financial plans.... this is where I started getting confused for the order of documents. We'll be using our joint account as evidence of our relationship AND as part of 'how she will support me' so should we insert the joint statement twice (once for financial evidence and one for proof of joint banking) or just provide the joint statement once and refer to it in our letter of intent?

You need to follow the same order as the document checklist IM5533.

I used only 2 paper clips. One with sponsor papers and one with applicant papers and I used an elastic band for the photos.

You can put the documents that belong to both of you together with a paper clip and put it last at the bottom of the pile. That's what I did. I had no issues when cic received it.

I followed the checklist. I had three envelopes. One for sponsor one for spouse and one for additional documentation and then used a card envelope for photos

How did you ensure the passport sized photos were safe?

I separated mine into envelopes for organization for the Immigration Officer.

Envelope 1: Sponsor Forms and Supporting Documents

Envelope 2: Applicant Forms and Supporting Documents

Envelope 3: Open Work Permit Forms and Supporting Documents

Envelope 4: Proof of Relationship Evidence.

I included all the payment receipts within the relevant envelopes. I placed the passport sized photos in another envelope within the envelope for the applicant attached to the Generic Application Form for Canada.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks for the details! Did you attach payment receipt to both sponsorship and OWP?

Your welcome, and yes for the $1040 payment receipt for sponsorship I included that in the sponsors envelope and the $255 payment receipt for the open work permit I included that in the open work permit envelope.

Also, before sending in your application to IRCC - CPC there is an option for you to include a barcode that you can print off online which when IRCC receive your application they will send you a text message to confirm. This will be the first correspondence you will get, secondly it will be AOR.

You sent 4 envelope to cic?

Ah so i should pay two amounts separately? And attach the reciepts to their application... i was going to just pay one lump sum

You can pay all at once.

With the new application, I split it into two envelopes. The first envelope was everything except the proof of relationship. Second envelope was proof of relationship. I used paper clips to keep all multi-page forms and documents together. I also paperclipped the tiny envelope with my headshots to a full size sheet of paper so that it wouldn't get lost. Used binder clips to attach the two big envelopes together and they went into a bubble mailer.

Hi yeah it only lets you pay the amounts separately it doesn't give you the option to pay them together online as far as I'm aware anyway it may be different now. You will pay separately for the $1040 sponsorship and $255 for the open work permit if it doesn't let you pay together.

Okay yes then pay separately and attach both of the receipts in the envelope before sending it to them.

I didn't have to apply for work permit so I didn't know that's what you were referring too.

we had a rep and she took care of everything for us she made a binder and organized everything for us and FedEx it for us and we used her computer to pay by credit card
