How long does it take for CIC to respond that they at least got the application? We sent it out on July 27th first class mail from Quebec to Alberta. I've been checking my mail and email for any word from them but none yet...

Should I be worried?

Unfortunately they don't respond to confirm they have received the application. So there's no reason to worry if you haven't heard anything. It's perfectly normal!

You won't hear anything until around the 10 month mark when you should receive Approval in Principal (AIP).

Also, in case you're not aware, there's a great Inland 2011 thread where people have gathered who submitted inland apps this year. I'd recommend you join for support, information, etc.

How do people know the date that they received the application then? Everyone has it in their signatures... o_o

Because most people send their applications by courier (or some other form of mail where the recipient has to physically sign for the package) and they know when the package arrived at the CIC offices based on the information the courier company has reported back to them.

Okay, thank you (probably should of done that but too late now).. i have one more question. How do we know when they start processing the application?

I'm not that familiar with the inland process. I would recommend you post this question to the Inland 2011 thread (see the link I provided in my earlier message). I'm sure that information is either already posted in that thread - or they will be able to help you. :)
