Application in Progress - PR Card Requirement and travelling outside canada

Hi All,

My Wife's PR Card expires Jan 2027, and we just applied for her citizenship today

My questions are

1 - While the application is in progress between now and Jan 2027, she can still travel right (we would travel for <30 days max)? her current physical presence is ~ 1500 days
2 - Once it expires in Jan 2027, if we do not plan on travelling anytime in first 6 months of 2027, we can just wait for Citizenship right? As currently the processing timeline for citizenship is 12 months I belive.
3- If we do want to travel in early 2027, we should start renewal by Nov 2025 right? (2 months prior to PR Expiry), and when we apply for new PR card, so we need to let IRCC know? (this is only if we plan on travelling in early 2027 of course.

1. No issue
2. If you have plans to travel before the fall 2027 I would probably go ahead with the PR card renewal.
3. Would personally give yourself more than a 2 month buffer to renew a PR card. Would update your application when/if you receive a new PR card.

So if i get a new PR card and this one expires. I have to let IRCC know i got new card through the existing application?
