Hi all I have just one last question. Does the criminal record have to be put in the application right from the beginning or can it be sent in when immigration requests it? I know that the criminal record is only valid for 6 months that's why I'm asking.
Thanks
Carlos

Send it with the application if you have it.

You are supposed to send in the criminal record checks with the application. If you send them in with the application, they do not expire. As long as you do not go back to the particular country after getting the check, CIC should accept it.
If you do not send them in with the application, you should send in an explanation of why you do not have them.

Hey, its preferred to send it right from the beginning just to avoid any delays.

The application will not be returned. I guess they'll just ask for it later. But like i said earlier, it's gonna cause delay.

Please check your countries of residence, most countries you can request for police clearance but not ALL Countries. Unless not mine, i will need to wait for CIC Official letter of request

Hi All

Cic mississauga received my part of the application on August 5th, 2016. Tomorrow will be 21 days since they have recieved it and we are yet to hear anything from them. Just want to know if we should be worried. I saw that it went from 54 days to 47 days. I figured that we would have recieved something by now.

Thanks

you won't receive anything until closer to the time listed. if you want to know when people who submitted applications the same time as you start getting notified, then find the thread specific to august applicants. checking in on june and july applicant threads will also prove helpful. you are in for a lot of waiting and not knowing anything. it's best not to assume or figure anything.

Hey

Im sure its going to take time. I'm just asking is about the acknowledgement letter telling me that they have recieved the application. Thats all I'm asking about.

What do you mean by 'my part of the application'? Both parts - the sponsor's and the applicant's - are supposed to be sent in together in the same package.

Correct and im the one sponsoring my wife. The entire application was sent to Mississauga all I'm asking is how long do I have to wait for the acknowledgement letter stating that they have received the application?

It varies, it can be a few weeks to a couple months. If you don't get one right away, don't panic and assume they didn't get your file. They usually take a very long time to send ackonwledgement letter even though they've already processed your file.

You have to check on CIC site under your countries to see if you can request PCC without official CIC request letter (which my country require), if yours don't, you can do your PCC and send it out together in. It save alot of time and your application can get approval faster too.
