I am going to put through an application for a work permit under being an entrapeneur. I am currently coming to an end with my iec work permit.
I don't want to be on implied status because they will issue me an order to leave the country should I not get Accepted for the work permit.

Am I able to change my status online to visitor whilst having this application in for a work permit without leaving the country?

Thanks in advance!

You can't get a work permit as an entrepreneur. In order to qualify for a work permit, you need to have an employer and job offer, as well as an approved LMIA (which your employer must obtain).

I've been told by lawyers I can. And I've done an online questionnaire on Cec website that says I can. And service canada and immigration call centre said I can...

I don't suppose they told you exactly HOW you would qualify for a work permit as an entrepreneur? A citation from the CIC website would be sufficient... As I'm sure that you are already aware, implied status is not an option with IEC work permits. When they expire, it's "Game Over".

But if you change your status as tourist then you have to suffer more expenses than on work permit.

And your point is?
