Outland application

I applied to sponsor my spouse on May 25th. It went into process on June 30th.
Now after almost 70 days, the call center is saying it went into process on July 24th
and that I might not have an answer until September 24th.. which would bring me to
around 120 days just for Sponsor approval.. when the time frame shows its processing
applicants from june 2nd I think, and that its around 56 days.
Does this make sense? I ordered notes but I am wondering if there is anything else I can
do because this seems really out of the normal outland timeframe.

Any advice on what I should do other then wait and not call them until Sept 24th?

Did you get SA yet? You might have been looking at processing for the sponsor, and now it's on to the applicant.

No I am waiting for SA. Which is why I'm completely confused with this.

If I do wait until September 24th, I will have been waiting 4 months for Sponsor Approval
for outland application.

Call center has not much information other then that it started processing on the 24th of
July but it has been in Ecas showing In Process since June 30th.

Ohhhh the CALL centre says that, ok, well there's your problem. No AOR either yet?

Edit: I see you have AOR, so there is something, I would not be that worried yet, I would try the call centre again apparently it's luck of the draw on if you get someone with any useful knowledge.

Yes, the call center confirmed AOR for June 30th. They gave me
my file number and my husbands Client ID in early July.

Then I was able to access my file on Ecas
It has showed this since then

Sponsorship

We received your application to sponsor xxxxxx xxxxxx on May 26, 2015.
We started processing your application on June 30, 2015.

But when I did not get any SA I called them and was told it went into process on July 24th
and that it will take about 2 months from then, thats september 24th for my SA.

I am already at 70 days since application , and well beyond the 56 days for outland processing
for Sponsor approval.

There's at least a couple people on the march/april spreadsheet that took 69+ days to get SA from Ottawa so it can happen. Possibly the call centre doesn't know what it's talking about and you'll get it any day now.

Well I hope your right and they are just not giving me correct information

They kind of implied that I should not call til september 24th when
I called back to ask them to explain to me why it might take 4 months for SA for me
and its averaging 56 days for everyone else as stated on thier own website.

I really feel frustrated, already at 70 days and they screwed up with my email.. not adding it
to the file they created, and they screwed up with my husbands address, incorrect address number
and now they are giving me different dates at to when it went into processing.

Kinda feel like having a big cry LOL

Thanks Aquakitty

The call center agents stick to a script when telling people how long something might take, and like a lot of the timelines, it's more of an outside limit. Chances are it will be much faster; however I would call once a week and keep your story simple each time you call, saying your application was received on May 25th and that it is in process, but no decision has been made and you are hoping to get more information.

Don't mention calling previously - they'll eventually see that, but you want to make sure they take your info and go check the system. If you say you've already called, then depending on who you get, they may start asking a lot of questions, etc, just give you the same September date and never bother to check.

My SA took 119 days. Our file got sent to Ottawa before SA was complete and it took 6 weeks of calling before I got confirmation of that, then it went to SA quickly once it went back to Mississauga. I got a variety of agents - four were very helpful, one was OK, and one was an absolute jerk. Chances are they may not be able to tell you a lot, but if it lingers, the calls may help.

Thanks Rugrat.. I do remember that you had a huge error made by them on your
application being sent off to Ottawa before the SA stamp of approval was put on it.

I really feel that when they are working on someones files, since it is such an important
thing, our lives essentially, they should be able to do it correctly more often then not
and have definitive answers that are not scripted so they can move on with their day
when our lives are pretty much on hold for an undetermined period of time and they just
get to go home after 5.

I hope you got put back into the proper order for the queue when you got back to Ottawa
for the second phase and not set back by 2 months.

Thanks - I have no idea whether they'll move us back to where we should be or not, but I doubt it.

I'm not angry - people make mistakes. And I get why someone sitting in a call centre in Montreal is going to careful about what they say since they aren't the ones working on the application. I just wish the process were more transparent. It shouldn't be hard to set up the ECAS system to provide more information so can see more of what's happening to your application, like with the decision made status. Why is it so hard to have a yes or no show up? It's the waiting in complete darkness that get me more than anything.

I agree. I feel like since we're able to have access to the notes it would be nice if those were just viewable on ecas to see. That way you know if your application has been touched or thrown in a weird pile or whatever. I'm waiting on my notes to figure out why it took so damn long for my application.

I called this morning for my once a week call, got an agent who
actually gave me a valid reason for my delays and I am now
not sitting in the dark.

I will just sit tight and wait for this to check out with them and
then they will be done as everything else is finished and they are
just waiting on this one thing.

Thanks everyone.

Why on earth would you call once a week?!

That seems like overkill to me, and probably won't help expedite your case at all and could potentially slow down others.

There is something to be said for patience and the value of waiting.

Because I am well beyond the timeframe for when I should have been receiving my SA
They messed up my file by not including my husbands correct address,
they did not include my email.. so I never received my AOR until I finally called the call
center, and they were not giving me the correct information on why my application has
been over 70 days when its taking an average of 56 for everyone else who applied outland.

And also , I was recommended to start calling once per week, that was my first once per week call... and its nice to sit tight and have patience when you already have your Landing, if you had been waiting double the time or told it would be double the time then everyone else, and no one told you why, I wonder if you would have as much patience as you advise to have.

And this coming from someone whose entire process was done in six months. Wow. You didn't need patience.. you were lucky enough to have your
file go to Ottawa rather then London. Or was it four months? Somewhere you mentioned you were lucky enough that it was only 4 months.
