I received my ITA in August 2020 and submitted my documents in October 2020. However, due to backlogs and reduced staff, I received an email from CIC saying that the application is still processing.
My passport expires in a few months and I need to get it renewed. Since I have given my current passport number for all the forms and documents, can I get it renewed before I receive the PR? The new passport will have a different number. I intend on traveling internationally soon and I need to get it renewed.
Are there any implications if I get a new passport before getting my PR?
