I'm a Canadian national who's currently engaged to a Malaysian national and hope that we can move to Canada together once we get married towards the end of 2020.

I'll be applying her PR application as soon as I return to Canada; as told by my colleague that it'll be bit faster for the process if applied within Canada.

I know that Malaysians require a visa to visit Canada.

My question is what visa option is available and recommended for my fiance (future wife) to apply while we both wait for the PR application to be processed. I would like her to be with me in Canada while her application is processed.

Looking forward to any suggestions.

She should apply for a TRV (tourist visa). However you should be aware that approval is far from guaranteed. To be approved, she will need to show strong ties to her home country (job, property, assets) and also demonstrate she has the funds available to pay for her visit to Canada. It will help if she has previous travel to countries requiring visas such as the US and UK - and will work against her if she doesn't. Your relationship will work against her and possibly make IRCC concerned she has plans to use the visitor visa to come to Canada and remain long term.

Having said that, worthwhile to give the TRV a shot - she certainly may be approved and then you can do as planned.

If she's refused, you'll need to go through the outland route for sponsorship.

The process is not faster from within Canada. An inland application, which requires you both to be in Canada, is generally slower than an outland application, which can be done from anywhere in the world.

Are you currently living together outside of Canada?

Ok.

She's neither been the US nor the UK (Malaysians in general do not need a visa) but can her previous visit to Australia help?

For biometric and physical examination can we do it prior to officially applying the TRV or do we need to once after?

Yes we're currently outside of Canada but I'll be returning first to fufill one of requirements from my end to prove that I'll be support her while in Canada.

What are the differences between applying inland and outland?

I asked if you are living together. If you are, for how long?

You don't need to return to Canada to prove that. You can sponsor from abroad.
