Hi everyone,
My husband has a Ph.D in geology in Nigeria with over 10 years work experience in Nigeria National oil company and still residing in Nigeria. He has paid for APEGS geoscience-in-training to be a member. Will the technical exam be waived for him because of his level of experience and education? We are expecting the WES evaluation (ICAP).
We applied for SINP (he is the primary applicant) abd chose NOC 2144 because his job description is mostly for NOC 2144 (geological engineer) and 2113 (geology). Will it be accepted? Thank you

Has he been accepted as a GIT or just paid the fees for evaluation? It states on the site that

The BOE will require you to write exams, get additional experience, or both if you are not a graduate of a university program that meets one of the below requirements:

  1. is recognized by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (for engineering applicants)
  2. meets the requirements of the Geoscience Knowledge and Experience Requirements (for geoscience applicants)
  3. is a related program that the BOE considers to be equivalent to number 1 or 2
Contact APEGA for first hand information.
